I have not been watching real close the sales of gun items. But I noticed no one has 223 priced well. No one has powder or primers. I ran across one can of BLC2 at Cabala's yesterday and picked it up. I was checking for Varget and the salesman said they were out of powder for a month and got a small amount yesterday and that was all he had. The other five cans were for shot gun. I grabbed it. I reload for the range and keep my factory for SHTF. So I am well off. I am still using some very old 1960s Bullseye I picked up from an old timer who sold me his reloading supplies. It works just fine. I put back about 20 pounds of powder over the years. Same with primers but I try to rotate my stock as I use up some. Are you guys finding reading supplies dried up in your area?

Yes reloading supplies are hard to find. My local BassPro has done away with their powder shelves and filled them with other things. Small pistol primers are hard to find and several places have a 1000 limit. It's easier to find bullets but not like it was pre 2020 upside down world. If you find supplies in stock you better grab them fast because everything sells out instantly.

nothing in my area now. found a 5 pound jug of clean shot last week and 2k small rifle primers. if you don't have it by now you are not going to get any.

When the best thing is out (loaded ammo) then the next best thing will quickly follow (reloading components)

Folks who are a bit new to this game may not realize this and this is where a bunch of new reloaders will spawn only to find they are once again late to the party.

Maybe next time they will be on top of things.

I only load for the shooting range to preserve my factory ammo for SHTF. The only thing I have I don't load is 7.62x39. I have over 15000 rounds of factory sealed ammo put up for that cal. It was more expensive to load it than buy it.

I was in Fin, Feathers, & Fur last Friday. No SR or SP primers. Less popular powders were still on the shelf. Popular semi-auto bullets were gone.
An article said gun sales up by 95% and ammo sales up by 139%. Of course that is only as long as supplies are there.

I will sell some AR mags if the price is right. I never sell ammo unless its for a stupid amount of money. In the 2012 great 22lr ammo drought I would sell some here and there because people were paying a lot for it. But even then only half what I would find at wally world.

I have a couple mom & pop shops around me that have some stuff. No small rifle primers to be found though.

I was able to get some 45 brass and bullets several weeks ago, already had the power & primers needed to load.
Paid 25% more for loaded 40 S&W FMJ a few weeks ago its all gone now.
Was able recently to still get 357 Sig FMJ to shoot in my Glock 32 or Glock 23 with 357 Sig barrel.

Reloading components have been difficult to find for several months now. Before all this covid crap happened, I had a decent plan going. I had fully replenished all my factory ammo after the Obama years shortage. I had also stocked up on primers, brass, and powder. All I had left to buy was bullets, I was waiting until my annual bonus at the end of March to stock up on that. Oops!

I did notice last night while browsing that I could get 9mm and .38 sp projectiles, and there was a handful of .308 bullets, but .224 was practically nonexistent.

Oddly enough my LGS seems to always have a good selection of powder, even now. He only sells it in 1 lb bottles but the price is good. Primers are tougher, especially SPP's. When I was there earlier this week the only SPP's he had were magnums so I bought those. Bullets are what I have the most trouble finding. The local store only sells them by the box and the prices are higher than I'm willing to pay as I'm used to buying in bulk. So far I have been able to get the bullets I want online by constantly monitoring the vendor websites, but prices are creeping up more each day it seems.

Small Pistol and Small rifle primers are wiped out. I can still find large rifle, large pistol Mag and shotgun primers. Powders I have seen some on line but the shops have been wiped clean. Bullets? Good luck. Some but not a lot.

The NE Fin had a pretty good stock of powder and rifle primers last weekend. I got a brick of CCI41 and 3 bricks of cci 500 along with 4-5lbs of powder. The 9mm they had was no name brand and $19-50 limit one. 5.56 was plentiful but $10-20.

I'm all set.

The largest gun shop in my state closed last fall, and all their reloading components were on sale.

My shelves are loaded with powder and primers.

Just plain good luck on my part.

If you need additional components I'd recommend placing a backorder if possible. Waiting for stock to be replenished may be a long wait.

No pistol primers at my usual gun store. Pistol powder is mostly Winchester and Hogden with some Green Dot and Blue Dot. 22LR is crazy. $85.00 for 500.

I'm checking with my dealer/pusher now for a little over $500 worth of HP38 & H4350 and 7K in primers. I'll see what he comes back with. Great guy to deal with, but it's only face to face, cash or cashiers check. No plastic and no shipping as he mostly sells at the local gunshows. He's normally got good a good supply when others are out.

As an adherent to the "Buy it cheap & stack it deep" philosophy I refuse to participate in this or any other panic induced shortages. It's funny how people like me are referred to as hoarders when the masses are out panic buying, but when supplies were plentiful and discounted I bought cases of bricks of .22LR at 2.5 to 3.0 cents per round, cases of bricks of primers for 3.0 cents or less per and relatively cheap powder by the 8 lb. jug while advising others to do the same, many consider me a conspiracy theorist or just paranoid.

Looks like I picked a lousy time to get started handloading. Made the decision simply because I just got a new .357 and thought it would be good to start with. Now this. :(

Other stuff is here & there, but Small Pistol magnum I can't find anywhere. Unfortunately, that's what I need.

Most everything is very lean around here. Occasionally some odd handgun caliber ammo will be available. No 223, 300 BLK, or x 39, except maybe some Hornady $1 a round type 223, and then its a 2 box limit. No shotgun rounds with pellets bigger than #5 turkey. Plenty of small shot and "traditional hunting ammo". 22 LR is hit or miss. Reloading supplies are very lean at Bass pro in Destin and Academy in Pensacola.
