I am new to the group so bear with me please. I have been working on a FN commercial Mauser I picked up and bought one of those sleek replacement shrouds. It was sort of rough when I received it but it finished quite nice. I reassembled the bolt and put it in the receiver and it seemed to function until I went to fire it. When I pulled the trigger there was no boom. I checked the primer and it seems the firing pin is not making contact with the primer. I've been comparing the original shroud with the new one and I am not seeing it. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Try posting this to the gunsmithing section. You'll get better results.
Welcome an good luck.

Further investigation has revealed that my bolt is bottomed out in the shroud and I am 20 to 30 degrees from the correct alignment. Do I remove just a little from the bolt or try to address the shrould. The original works fine.

Is your firing pin assembly screwed into the bolt to the correct depth? Sounds to me that you are one turn short of screwing the bolt sleeve to the correct battery position. The bolt handle root may have to be altered.
Yes, it does appear that the shroud is bottomed out on the bolt and it is about 1/2 shy of being where it needs to be.

I would remove metal from the bolt root just enough for the bolt sleeve to revolve into the correct position. Go slowly and you should be able to align the sleeve to the correct position. I've had the same problem with alignment with bolt handle weld ons. Working on the bolt handle root usually solves the problem.

If the bolt is unaltered I think that I may choose to work on the bolt sleeve since you said that it was a little rough, may be a little out of specification. Sorry I did not pick up on your statement that the bolt sleeve was sort of rough. Hope that I offered some help, good luck.
