I recently purchased a Ruger American Rimfire with the synthetic stock. Not a big fan of the stock and it doesn't fit me very well. The length of pull is about an inch longer than my other 22 cal rifles. On Boyd's site they show the standard length of pull at 13.75 inches. Can somebody please confirm if that is the actual measurement for those who own one of these stocks? I measure from the trigger pin (not the tip of the trigger) to the back of the recoil pad. Length of pull on this American synthetic stock is a full inch longer than my wood stock 10/22. Thanks!

I can check my center fire American stocks, and the rimfire stock on my 795, when I get home.

It's gotta be close to that tho, I prefer a 14-14.25" pull, and the Boyds stocks arnt uncomfortable for me at standard length.

You can get the shorter butt plate that takes an 1" or 1.25" off the LOP

That's kind of the selling point to American rim fire stock.

The American Rimfire is listed as 13.75” LOP. The 10/22 is listed as 12.75” LOP.

You can choose nearly whatever length your heart desires when ordering a Boyd’s stock.

I don't trust my measuring technique. The factory synthetic stock measures 14.5" and I assumed the standard LOP for the Boyd's stock would be the same though it's not advertised that way. So I started to doubt I am measuring it correctly. I don't want to order a custom stock until I know what LOP I really want... basically 1 inch less than the factory stock.

EDIT: Just looked at the Ruger spec and 13.75" is what they advertise. So I guess my measurement isn't right. I prefer a stock that is 1 full inch shorter like the 10/22.

Didn't know this! Thanks for the tip.

They sell them separately of you dont want the set with and without the cheek rise.

This set is for the 12.5" LOP 'compact'.

This set, for visual reference, is what you have unless you bought the compact model. Works out to be a 13.75" LOP.

ETA: I believe that all of the 10/22s that are not compact models are 13.5 or 13.75. The only 10/22s that are under 13" are the compact models with either a shorter stock or the smaller inserts I linked too.

You shouldn’t be measuring from the “trigger pin.” LOP traditionally should be measured from the face of the shoe, about midpoint, the furthest rear of the curvature, parallel to the bore.

I just measured again and my 10/22 is 13.5" to the tip of the trigger, the American is 14" to the tip of the trigger. What started this whole issue is the eye relief on my scope because the American doesn't have enough for a comfortable cheek weld. Looking them over some more I noticed the American scope position is too far forward relative to the 10/22 due to the length of the rail. Maybe I need an offset ring to pull the scope back closer to my eye.

Funny cuz most guys complain there rimfire stocks are to small. I like the American stock, think it's better then it's bigger brother. I was disappointed when they came out with the wood stock, I was hoping for a nice American style stock and it just looks like the out the synthetic in the duplicator.
