.223/5.56
25.8 gr. BL-C(2)
55 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip Varmint (My load) or 55 gr. Hornady V-Max (my son's)
CCI 400
LC 09 or 13 brass
My son has dropped numerous deer with his version, (I load them for him) so far all I've got with mine is one coyote. I am thinking about making up some 60 gr. Partitions, but I keep putting it off...

Outside of Ohio, 165 Gr Sierra Gameking BTSP over 58 grains of IMR 4350 in my -06. Bagged several deer with DRT results with this load.

Inside the state I have a 45-70 with 350 Hornady Interlock over 47.5 grains of Reloader 7 and 350 gr XTP Mag over 51 grains of Reloader 7 in . 50 Beowulf. Haven’t bagged a deer yet with either so it’s hard to say how they’ll perform.

This year, I'm planning and hoping to harvest a deer with my .45 flintlock.

.440 rb
.015 ticking lubed with Hoppes BP patch lube.
62gr 3f.
This load has brought home some meat for me at various nmlra shoots including the famous Alvin York Memorial shoot. It should bring home some venison too.
What gun is your 45.

"Olde Hiram" is a custom curly maple stocked early Lancaster with brass furniture and a Green Mountain barrel and L&R lock.
It was built mostly from parts from Muzzleloader Builders Supply, by my friend and mentor.
I finished the wood and browned the steel.
I took the liberty of a few embellishments with a graver on the brass.

Nice, I like that squirrel target.
I'm trying to save for a kibler southern mountain rifle in 45, tho I maybe best just do build a similar gun from parts to keep the price down.

The 60gr Partition is powerful deer medicine in the .223. I have seen many deer dropped in place or with minimal distance traveled with that load. They Partition is a strong bullet that whole together well and expands well.

.308
#1
Hornady 165 gr SST
45.5 gr Varget
Hornady Brass (because I have a lot cases)
CCI Large rifle primer

#2
Speer 150 gr BTSP
45 gr H4895
MKE Brass
CCI LRP

My most commonly used deer load is in .270 Winchester. A 130 SGK sp over 48 gr of IMR 4064 in a Remmy case with a CCI br2 primer. This shoots bug holes at 100 and killed deer out to 400 yards. I have experienced bullet failures with the 130 guys but not enough to change them out.

I also load 150 Nosler partitions over 72.5 gr of superformance in a Norma case with a Remmy LRMP in 300WSM. This isn't as accurate as my .270 load but I have recorded kills out to 350 yards. The partitions are great projectiles and doesn't tear a lot of meat up.

Try as I might, I can’t develop a load that shoots well in all of my three .270 Winchesters. However, 130 grain Remington Corlokts give good results in all three.
I’m still trying, though. That’s the fun of reloading.

In my .58 BP muzzle loader I load a 192 gr lead ball in a .015 mink oil lubed patch over a 1/2" felt wad and 120 grains of 2f black powder. Never had a deer go more than 30 ft after being hit with that load.
That's my brother's load.
I like 110 of 777 and a 200 sst in a 45 muzzleloader.
My smokeless loads won't be posted on here.

This right here for the Sierra 170 and Hornady 160 with Hornady brass and CCI LRP and Lever Revolution powder:

I hunt deer with several guns depending on when, where and how. A 95gr Ballistic Silvertip over 40gr. of IMR-4350 shoots like a laser in my Rem 700 243.

My Savage 300 WSM likes 165gr, Accubond and 64 gr of (You guessed it) IMR-4350. Shoots sub-MOA off of the bench.

The Bergara 6.5 CM is set up for lobbing them out to 500 yards. Only 39 gr H4350 pushing a 129gr Accubond LR puts the bullet where the BDC says. Took 3 with it last year.

I had a 338 Federal that took a pair of does using 200gr Speer HC and Varget.

The GP100 likes 180gr XTP's over a hot load of H110 or AA9. I think that I have taken 6 or 7 with it.

Have a new Mauser 6.5 CM that I am working up a load with 130gr Sierra TGK. Just waiting on Midsouth to ship the bullets.

223 Rem. - Wby. Vanguard Sporter
23 grains Benchmark
Nosler Partition 60 grain
CCI 450 small rifle magnum
Lapua Brass

45-70 Govt. - Marlin 1895 classic
47.5 grains IMR4064
MBC cast 405
CCI 200 LRP
Starline Brass

I used 25-06 to cover everything by just changing bullet styles and weights. Then I realized I live in AL where my longest shot is probably 100 yards, more likely 50-75. These are from one extreme to another but I like both of them.

.223 ttsx and benchmark
.243 imr4451 or h1000 and everything from 90 gr tgk-95 poly tipped whatever's, to 100 gr prohunter and 103 eld (gonna try staball too)
.270wsm no handloads yet but factory 130 win extreme tips (black poly) are accurate and look like my kinda fun.
7stw retumbo and 139 ssts or 162 elds depending on the day/quarry/terrain/mood.
.41 just running factory rem 210s for now.
.22-250 & 6.5 cm: TBD (.22-250 will probably use ttsx but MAY run a sierra 62 gk)

Wow’
How fast are those rounds flying?

Both of these loads are about .5 gr below the max loads from Hodgdon. I have not chronographed these loads but I would think around 2725 fps for the 165 gr and 2825 fps from the 150 gr. Both shoot exceptionally well for me out of a Savage Scout rifle. No pressure signs at all.

I've hunted & killed deer with maybe a couple dozen calibers, but have used mostly flintlocks the past 15 years.
1. Marlin 45/70: 55 grns of 3031 & 400 grn Speer JSP. 1800 fps, astonishingly accurate and deadly.
2. .250 Sav. Ruger M77 32 grns 3031 & 100 grn pointed at about 2750 fps and .3" group at 100 yds.
3. .250 Sav. Savage M99 32 grns of 4320, 100 grn pointed at 2650 fps and around 1" (+ or -) at 100 yds.
4. .350 Rem Mag. 22" Remington M700 55 grns of 3031 & 200 grn Hornady SP at 2700 fps and .5" groups at 100 yds.
5. .45 Lancaster flintlock longrifle; 60 grns of 3F BP & patched lead round ball.
6. .50 flintlock longrifle; 70 grns of 3F BP & patched round ball.
7. .36 flintlock SMR; 20 or 30 grns of 3F BP and a patched round ball.
8. .45 Colt Ruger BH 7.5"; 18 grns of 2400 and home-cast 265 grn swc for 1250 fps.
9. .44 mag SBH 7.5"; 27 grns of H110 & Hornady or Speer 200 grn JHP for 1500 fps.
10. .62 Smoothbore flintlock; 75 grns of 3F BP & a patched round ball.

Yes, it is usually my hunting bullet of choice. Got several deer with it in 165 .30 cal., and loaded the 200 gr. .30 cal for moose. I started loading 55 gr. V-Max for my son's Axis, so I used the 55 gr. Ballistic Tip Varmint as it is closest to the V-Max for my hunting loads, and I can load the same charge with either bullet and get excellent accuracy.
