What's the funniest/oddest thing you've heard/seen in a gun shop?

I have this Sig that I love dearly but it's ugly. I hate the "tribal" designs.
I thought about different ways to get rid of the designs, and thought I had a solution when I ran across a stainless officer's size slide and barrel in a small, obscure gunshop I'd never been in. Ask if it's a 70 or 80 series and the owner isn't sure so I ask to see it. (I can't tell either) so I ask if I can check to see if it fits my gun. The guy says he's been trying to sell it for 6 months, so absolutely check and see. I remove my gun, drop the mag, empty chamber and lay it down for the guy to verify. As I'm disassembling my gun, a customer standing nearby says "that's nice but you really should get a 1911. That's what I'm getting"
I just smiled and said "maybe one of these days".
