Thats too bad. I've bought products from them over the years. Hope it,s just an accident but in today's crazy climate I wouldn't be surprised if it,s arson. Now lets see if they will be allowed to reopen or deemed to dangerous to the surrounding area if the neighbors are spooked. JMHO Good luck to them.

Not good. When the original owner retired and sold the business things changed at Widners. I never found any good deals or things I needed after that. If I remember correctly Lucky Gunner bought it...

Heres one you dont hear about... you have probably heard about a large manufacturer of bullets and ammo whos name starts with an H. They had either an explosion or "burn" that somehow put an entire shipping container about 80 feet over a ditch onto a city street. A few years ago. Would like to have seen that from a distance.

I agree. The original Wideners was a good deal for supplies, since it sold the deals and selection are poor.

Interesting. Wideners used to be my go-to for ordering bulk 55 grain .223 bullets, but I had noticed that it seemed like they didn't get them in the same quantities that they had in the past, or have as good a deal on them.

I am very glad that nobody was hurt and I feel sorry for the hassle that this will mean to the "new" owners.

Yes, I am one of the folks who still misses the original ... even with its decidedly "unique" website proggie.

When Wideners was sold, years ago, I hoped that they received excellent price for the company that they had built.

I quickly learned that I would probably not be doing much (if any) business with the new group.

Dunno where you live, but that won't be a problem. People here aren't like that.

Pull up the current video of the Lebanon explosion to see what some ammonium nitrate in large quantities can do.......................

IIRC, one of the reason Midway USA could not store and ship powder was their current location was too close to the highway, so they subbed it to Powder Valley (and why you got hit with 2 hazmats). Then they built another facility that met code

My comment was in relation to the previous poster and a shipping container. I used Tovex 210, A.N. based explosive, building the Atlanta Subway system back in the 70s; neat stuff and when it worked as planned did an awesome job on that solid granite underground.
