Trap Shooting is still affordable

It's a cart for riding in while golfing.

I prefer my Trap Cart.

Even has StreetGlow for cruising for Honeys afterwards...:D
What, no gun racks up inside the riding area? No ammo basket on the front?:D (I have both on mine); bought it used, and added all that; but it was street legal with turn signals, horn, brake lights, headlights, mirrors, etc. Just needs a nice fan for those hot still summer days.

any shotgun you have, I am using a rem 870 police magnum and it works just fine for me
Very good. Now I wish I'd kept my vent rib 870 wingmaster. I dont nessasarily want a trap only type gun like an over/under w 32" bbl's or whatever. More of a multi purpose like an 870 would suit me just fine I think....

Remington 870...I'd look for an older Wingmaster...probably closer to the $500 mark, but a better gun than current production models
I had an older wingmaster, I now realize that buying it for $200 and selling it for $200 was a mistake... damn. It was in great shape too. Live and learn

I am an ignorant man when it comes to Tray, clays or all sorts of shotgun stuff. I am going to a local club Thursday for sporting clays. I went two weeks ago. It was fun even though my friends 12 year old beat me. Ammo was cheap at Walmart. Only choice was Federal or Winchester. I went with Federal. Need 50 for the round. 22 dollars for 100. Got enough for this week left. It was fun.

When I shoot sporting clays, a round is 100, so I bring a MINIMUM of 5-6 boxes because there will always be those one or two that break coning out of the machine, and then there will be that one station I want to go back afterwards with an extra box or two because I didn't figure it out the first time.
American trap and skeet are all about not missing any whereas sporting clays is all about trying to hit as many as you can - it is a subtle difference, but it exists as such.

Until that trap bug gets you!:D
Then, you'll be wanting an Unsingle for singles and an O/U for doubles, another O/U for skeet and sporting, and it just snowballs from there........(ask me how I know)

I used a Winchester 1300 for years. It still shoots great. But then I found a Citori with bells and whistles. That bug has expensive tastes.

I started with various browning O/Us (still have most of them), and have now added a Beretta DT-11 (even has a spare trigger group); nice gun but maybe that next stimulus check goes towards something nicer. Have seriously thinking of selling most of them and getting one nice, bespoke gun made to fit me, like a Perazzi (and that will mean selling a lot of them! :D)

Shooting in the club monthly trap league tomorrow.
$15 for 50 singles
$15 for 50 handicap
$15 for 25 pair
$36 for shells
= $81
Yeah this is cheap. Lol
I’m not Gonna count the skeet league and practice the other three weekends.
And still worth every penny!!!

I shoot sporting clays so for registered tournaments, I spend $75/100; typically with 2 100 bird events per day. That is $150.plus a flat of shells, another $75, plus ~$50 in gas towing my rigged up golf cart 150 miles each way - at least they feed me sausage for breakfast and a decent lunch!. before I moved, I did this every weekend, PLUS weekly fun practice 2-3 times per week. That practice 5-stand was $7/25 plus my cheap $4/box reloads per round - and I would shoot 4-6 rounds each times - i.e., a LOT of shells and targets over the years........
BUT, I don't go to bars, own a boat or extra sports car, so it's my fun.

I was more or less commenting on boxes of shells from Waldo's for $20 bucks, I was amazed due the current demand for ammo, me and the wife rode out to the back 40 and started chucking them, and taking shots, for us it was the cheapest shooting session of all times, the shoulder ache to cost ratio was about perfect.

I honestly had no idea of how much you can into the sport of trap shooting until the comments on this thread, those beautiful double barrel trap guns look sweet, I bet they shoot nice.

It has peaked my interest, I have been looking into a spring loaded self loading thrower, and have been looking at some over unders, I think the bug is trying to bite me, lol

I belonged to a Sportsman's Club where they had Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays endeavor's. In the club house they had gun racks, there was a lot of High$$$$ shotguns.

I am NOT trying to sound condescending or anything, so please define what YOU mean by high$$$ guns; because for ME, moderately expensive target shotguns START about $8K and the high-end guns still in Earth's orbit go for $20-65K.................that said I have seen, handled and even shot, a few guns that go north of $100K.....................
