I am in Nevada this week for work. I had to order a few things for work to be delivered to the hotel. This knife caught my eye. Amazon said I couldn’t have it. I said “oh yeah!” So I had it sent with a keyboard and monitor I ordered. It’s only $31. It came sharp. It locks tight. Looks cool in blue, and closes with a button. By sharp it shaved the hair on my arm. Why it can’t be shipped to NY is beyond me. It’s just a locking blade pocket knife with a 2.89 inch blade.

JPN ACUTO440 stainless steel. To be honest I purchased because I thought it looked nice and had good reviews. Its a more budget orientated knife. I carry a mini grip daily. This knife is sturdy and then some. No movement when locked. Front to back or side to side. I like it. Will it replace the mini grip? Not really. Might make it my travel knife.

Well it looks good. I recently bought a Geo 901 off amazon for $30 shipped. I'm not disappointed but if I had it to do over I would have passed.
The blade thickness of the Geo 901 is .1577" so its not a good slicer. I resharped it at a 28 degree inclusive angle with a 34 inclusive degree micro bevel and I am much happier with the knife.

Cool! I am one of those folks who carries an expensive knife, but likes to keep inexpensive beaters around to for everyday mundane tasks. Inexpensive has a place too in my book.

Travel knives would be a good thread topic.

Tangram is Kizer's budget brand, with exclusive sales and distribution through Amazon. They seem to get pretty good reviews, and the price is certainly easy on the wallet.

I can see why you ordered it; a fine looking knife indeed! What is the brand name?

The reason it can't be shipped/owned in NY is their weird rules on assisted/flippers/switch blade knives.

Basically if the knife can be opened with the flip of your wrist, it's illegal. That and get you in a lot of trouble without you even knowing about it.

Don't get caught with it if you live there, not sure if it's a felony or not but do you really want to find out the hard way? Check the laws on these types of knives and be safe!

The law in NY changed once it looked like Knife Rights was going to finally drag NYC into the Supreme Court (where NYC would loose and be responsible for the cost incurred by KR).

That's good to know HSO, when I had read about that part of their knife laws I couldn't believe it.

And it didn't matter how hard of a try it took, if the blade flipped out, you were in trouble!

There is no way you can flick this knife open. I could buy a knife like this in a local store. That's why Amazon makes no sense sometimes. NYC is always a different story, even now.
