New to me G20

Nice score,get out and shoot that rascal!!!

I've had one for years and like it a lot. I added a smaller G29 a few years ago that I actually like a little better. I shoot the smaller pistol just as well, it is a little easier to carry and works just fine with longer G20 mags. I don't shoot either of the 10's as often at the range, but since they are so similar I can practice with the cheaper to shoot 9mm Glocks and feel that it carries over to the 10mm's. FYI I can shoot 40 S&W ammo just fine in either of mine for cheaper practice.

You're going to have to invest in some of the hotter 200 gr loads from Double Tap and/or Buffalo Bore to really appreciate the full capability of the 10's

I've got a Glock 20SF it gets carried AIWB.

Look for or reload some hotter 10mm to get closer to the specs for the round. It is a great platform and cartridge but often needs reloading or going with some of the smaller ammo makers to ring it out. Not sure why, but a lot of the commercial ammo is not what the round was meant to be.

15rds of full power ammo is a LOT of energy at one's disposal. I am not a Glock fan but the 20 is an excellent platform in 10mm. I think it is a great woods gun given the power and mag capacity.

Since we’re now in the latest ammo shortage, consider a .40S&W conversion barrel, none of it is cheap but at least you can get .40S&W ammo.

A 20/29 is on my short list. We all invent needs for a new gun, but i can see the 10mm Glock as a great compromise for walking in the wilds when one wants firepower on their hip. Lots of thump when you need it.

I bought one a couple of years ago as a companion to my Smith 610.I like it a lot.

I love my g20, carry it all the time. Good capacity, fairly flat shooting and has some juice behind it - not bad for a magazine fed, plastic thing from overseas !

My 20 Gen4 is my favorite Glock, it just shoots great for me. Nice score, you won't be disappointed.

I have a Gen3 G20SF and it's a great shooter. A few years back I picked up a Lonewolf 357 sig conversion bbl just because. Have fun!

AA#9 and 180 gr jacketed bullets are your friend. Longshot isn't bad either but can't quite match the velocities with AA#9.

I like a max load of AA#9 and 200 grain Hornady XTP as my general woods 10mm load.

Congrats on the Glock, love my 21. Need a 20 some day too.

I use blue dot mostly for 10mm

Subject change, but I really like H110 for BLK and .357

Great gun - I love mine. As an FYI - you can shoot 40S&W though it; the shorter round will headspace on the extractor and I've never had an issue with extractor wear or misfires. Oh, and get rid of the holster - I won't use any holster with a retention design that puts anything inside the trigger guard of a Glock (or any other pistol that doesn't use an external manual safety).

As said, the commercial loads are wimpy, and mimic the final FBI loading. Underwood, HSM, Buffalo Bore and others all make a full power loads capable of tossing 200+ gr projectiles at 1200fps. If you continually shoot full power 10mm, a heavier recoil spring is advised.

Ive trusted my G20 gen3 for bear protection in the mtns. If 15 rounds of full power 10mm dont take it down, you've got bigger problems!

rbernie gave you his opinion of the Serpa holster. FWIW I disagree and happen to prefer that holster. The retention system does not /cannot impinge upon the trigger.

I have a BH serpa for mine. Works well, if you practice with the release. But I tend to use a cordura holster in the woods.

Fair enough Sir. You are not alone. I remain skeptical of the detractors. Of course keeping one's finger off the trigger until the barrel is addressing the target is very important but the holster design seems solid to me and I have been happily using them for several years.
