Pandemic Month 6: What's available in your LGS?

Bare shelves, mostly, here in NE Wisc still. Plenty of ammo available if you want to order it online and pay the going price. But the days of stopping at the local Fleet Farm on the way out to the range are still in limbo. There's a few handguns and still a pretty decent selection of hunting rifles and shotguns, though.

I went into an academy the other day because I had read about fantastic deals. Got some insoles and a pair of swimming goggles...they did have A lot of .17 hmr, 6.5 cm, 7-08, 224 Valkyrie, 7.62x39 and other assorted rifle calibers and many, thousands of 9mm rounds, should have taken a photo for the folks that can’t find any. Lots of empty spaces though.

Local sportsman’s warehouse seems decently stocked in most of the major calibers. Seems as though people here are starting to feel the financial crunch and ammo isn’t as much of a priority.

.223, 9mm and steel dove loads non existent.....anyplace around here.

Pump.domestic shotguns.....none.
Turkish stuff off and on.

A few AR now and then.

I haven't been able to make it to the gun store in the last three weeks or so since my day job resumed normal operating hours. I was at the local Walmart which seemed decently stocked with assorted rifles and shotguns. Metallic ammunition was another situation. They had some lower end hunting ammunition, and .22 WMR in stock. Nowhere what they have had on the shelves though. They had shotgun shells, but not as plentiful as before. Reloading components were in very short supply. Considering what things have looked like in the past, I was impressed.

10239756.jpg Just like in the Academy you photographed:
.22 Short,.32 Auto. something WMR, .17 and ammo created for traditional hunting rifles. But we knew this Months ago...................is this news?

ASICS running shoes made it a worthwhile errand. We might as well depict what can make a walk into Academy productive.

Not much of anything available in North Mississippi at the moment. My favorite pawn shop is down to less than 30 centerfire handguns and those are mostly revolvers. The semi autos he has are stuff that just about can’t be given away. He had a pair of Diamondback ARs and several bolt action hunting rifles last week, but nothing I was particularly interested in. Trying to order anything specific is non-starter. Nothing in stock with distributors. I was looking for a Springfield LWT Operator and had to turn to the secondary market to find one. Hit the jackpot yesterday.

Bolt action hunting rifles with wood stocks are plentiful in real gun shops here. Plenty of old school blued S&W revolvers and even .22 auto loading pistols of several brands, too.

Semi auto carbines, rifles, and centerfire pistols are relatively scarce in the real gun shops.

BTW, I haven't walked into an Academy or other big box store in many months.

Sounds like folks geared up for a war ! :)

I want some of those in stock .22 shorts !
Also 6.5 Creedmore in stock good for some of us who would use that kind of ammo to fight our way :)

Our LGS is receiving and selling firearms and accessories all the time, just no ammo... I don't know what people are doing with all the guns with no ammo to shoot.

Lack of ammo like when Obama was in office. No 9mm or .38. Very little .22 or .45 acp. No 9mm pistols or revolvers. Only medium price rifles. Also no 1 pounders of any kind of pistol or shotgun powder. No pistol bullets or primers. You know its bad when people are loading with red dot instead of bulleye.

Went to the local Scheel's yesterday and picked up a Leupold red dot for my AR and a couple choke tubes for one of my shotguns.(bought a used Citori a while back that came choked IC/IC so had to fix that situation)

Plenty of guns there including AR's -but slim pickins on Glocks and M&Ps-----zero pistol ammo other than 3 boxes of 500 S&W

Lots of shotgun ammo and hunting rifle calibers-----.223/5.56? GOOD LUCK with your search
