But I was reading up on the net that there was different manufacturing specifications for these little pistols over time. So getting the “right” magazine would be a hassle...so wanted to know if anyone here knows which magazine would fit it? Mines was Manufacture in 1956 it has the “B1” mark on the left side of the frame. And the under the mag it is marked: Astra. Anyone with info are welcome to chime in.

I had one just like yours in the box, with the manual, cleaning brush, and a spare magazine. Wasn't aware there were any differences between magazines. Might want to call some place like Bob's Gun Shop (gun-parts.com), and see what they might know about them.

The only difference I am aware of is many thought the other chambering, .25ACP, would work for the .22 Short. That is not true.
The 2 different calibers do not interchange. So make sure you buy a .22 Short magazine and you should be good to go.

I was one of the contributors in that thread and stand by my comments. Measure your magazine with digital calipers and then look only for those that are the same thickness. I gently removed .002” or so from each side on a belt sander and then polished it. Worked for me and did the same on a friends Astra Cub magazine. I’ve never tried any of the aftermarket magazines.

Think they are all the same, not sure if I have an extra mag but I do have a complete slide and barrel and extra parts you can have for $20 which will be for priority postage if you want it PM me
Ill have to see if the slide assembly and few parts I have hanging around in a tea can for .20 years is .22 short or .25. I had two .22 shorts, one with the kewl 4" barrel and a Colt Branded .25. I think I kept this parts I have to convert my .22 short one to .25 . You could do it wit a slide assembly and maga zine. I'll look tomorrow

Okay so I went shooting at the range with the cub today and found that the .22 short with the lead round nose jammed and misfired alot but not as often as much as the cci plated round nose. The lead was rated at 780 fps and the plated was rated at 1080 fps. And probably the firing pin spring is getting weak due to the misfire? Any advice?

Misfired as in?
No ignition?
Didn't load?
Didn't extract?
Didn't eject?
Stovepipe?
We can help with a little more info, hopefully.

It didn’t go bang. And it jam after it fired. I picked up the case and refire and it fired after refiring it. But the lead nose jam more than the copper plated. Like over 4 rounds per loaded 6 rounds?

I'd clean out the firing pin channel and inspect the firing pin for chips, uneven wear, etc.
The firing pin spring could be the wrong one but it being weak would not cause it to not fire.
If it jams after firing then I'd bet it's the recoil spring or a bad extractor. Remove the extractor and see if it's gummed up or chipped.
Is that the same gun as the Colt?
