Spyderco Jumpmaster 2

I have been sorely tempted by the J2. The sole complaint I have with it involves the angle of the blade to the handle. Some Spydercos have the blade "dropped" down some degrees, which IMO limits the versatility for me.

Spyderco's OPFOCUS
program sells their knives to military, police, first responders, and vets at wholesale. When buying just a few knives, it's actually less expensive than my cost as a Spyderco collaborator. Some restrictions apply.

Thank you for this link. I just registered and saved 50% off retail on a knife I had been thinking of buying.

The Waterway does look good. It's also highly rust-resistant, but the steel has different properties than H1.

Do they make it with a plain edge or partially serrated edge?

I like the look of the knife but don't want it fully serrated, I think that's a waste of a knife.

The entire point was that serrated H1 has superior qualities to plain edge. It is scientifically quantifiable to be a better knife, because the process of adding serrations work-hardens the H1, creating an edge that lasts many times as long as PE H1. (In addition to the additional cutting surface added by serrating a blade, of course.)

As a guy that works on the water out of a small skiff- there are times when you might want to cut a line (rope) -and very quickly.... I much prefer a smooth edged blade but have to say nothing cuts rope like a serrated blade (and if it won't cut in a single pass it will saw like no smooth edge blade can). For me, it all comes down to utility - is it what you're going to need in the moment where you are? My daily carry folder has a partially serrated blade - and those serrations are what I use for rope of any kind.... day in and day out.

When I was in the service (just fifty years ago now... ) I'd have come up with a different answer...
