Good evening,

I am new on this form, My Name is Morné van der Merwe, here from South Africa, Pretoria.
Like all of us here, absolute a passion for rifles. I have 4 Rifles, 270win that very light, this is my mountain rifle, then my 30-06 if I hunt the bushveld, then 2 target rifles, 6.5 Creedmoor and 284 Shehane.
Looking forward to learn on this forum.

Morne

Morne, we are pleased that you are joining us. International members help us to understand that while laws may be different in other countries, we are united by many interests, especially in the shooting sports. American idiomatic English will always be a challenge, even among those born and raised here, so don't be afraid to ask for clarification and don't be offended if a comment seems insensitive. There is good info here.

Welcome back! I am surprised you remembered your log-on info, but happy you could pick up where you left off. Funny how life works, no?

You hail from a region that has always fascinated me. A trip to Smokey Mountain Knife Works is on the bucket list, as is a bit of whiskey exploration in those parts.

Hi. My name is Randy and I live in Canton, GA. I am 62 and have enjoyed guns most of my life. My main Interests are God, family, cooking, coffee and pipe smoking. Whatever time I have left I devote to going to the range and reloading.

Better late than never: first name is Tim, state of residence is Wisconsin, occupation is retired, avatar is highly photoshopped pic of a cat I had (long gone), gun interests are target shooting, milsurps, kitchen-table gunsmithing, 2A rights.

Welcome Tim and Randy. It's good to have you on board. Every on line community has its own flavor, and I hope we are a good fit for you. A THR Primer is a good place to get a feel for the place.

New member from NC. Born and raised hunting and fishing. Love to target practice and tinker and talk guns. In the process of starting to reload and can’t wait to get some great feed back while adding to the forum.

Hello all. I am new here and I am from Eastern NC. I have always hunted and fished and enjoyed the outdoors. I have been collecting firearms since 14 and enjoy the history behind each one . My favorite weapon is my 1942 M1 Garand. Just got in to reloading this year and love it. I look forward to the exchange of ideas and experiences. Blessings to you all.

Another newbie here. Been lurking a while and thought it was a good time to join.
Former Army so I have some familiarity with the AR plus I carried an M60 for a bit too. Currently do not own a pistol or rifle but I do have a few shotguns.
These days I mostly shoot (hand thrown) clays and slugs, been a while since I've hunted anything...

Hello to all.
Glad I found this group. I have a J.C. Higgins model 31 with original scope and shoulder harness. Shoots well and fun to show off and shoot with the grandkids.

Thanks

Natemi, Moses, Dirtybob and Gadgetman, thanks for tuning in. Our members make us what we are, and we seem to have a lot in common despite differing backgrounds and experience. Make yourself at home, get the lay of the land, and enjoy.

Hey all,
Yea another new buy lol. Name is Ric and Im in the Denver area, ex-Army grunt, into shooting both photographs and firearms. Im shooting a Nikon D5600 for the pictures (yea its old like me lol) and a Ruger 556 and a Springfield XD mod2 (9mm) but I found this forum researching why, I could have been denied by CBI, I only have a speeding ticket about a year ago that was paid in full in about 10 days. So thanks for the replies on those threads, Ive already sent in the appeal forum via email.
Yes I even have my CCW, so I was pretty stressed for about a day, not so much anymore lol as I know there just to many guys in Colorado with my same name, funny, I was even suppeaned when I was 8, yes 8 years old for child support lol, my mom called the courts and cleard that up lol.
OH, I was trying to buy a Ruger American Predator in the 6.5 creedmoor flavor.
Anyways, this looks like a pretty good forum, I will do some reading and checking out the forum more and learn from you all.
Ric

Greetings Ric; and welcome. Not sure what "CBI" is, but I do know about background checks. Yes, similar names can be confusing to a computer. Birthdays not so much, as evil-doers will often lie about their date of birth or Social Security Account Number (shocker!).

I'm sure there's a complaint number or address on line somewhere to file a protest or answer to being denied. I'd suggest writing as waiting for a phone to clear is - ah - difficult. I'd suggest offering to provide other identity particulars in the letter, but do not send them blind.

Good luck getting it cleared up.
