Then they ought not to count the 8 weeks it takes them to do a ten minute job against your warranty duration.

Yeah, it's definitely disappointing. I went ahead and took my chances on the part. If it or something else falls to pieces within a year...well I guess I'll have a learning experience.

Yikes, colt is right up there with Beretta on the disappointing warranty scale.

Should take a page from Ruger!

They really should. It's piss poor. No other way to say it. It's not like I'm doing a custom trigger job. I'm swapping out a part that genuinely takes less than 10 seconds to replace, once the side plate has been removed.

It wouldn't be so unfortunate if it weren't for the way I've been singing the praises of Colt's new revolvers lately. I just hope they can get it together soon.

If I ever have issues again with mine it’s going to Frank Glenn for repairs. I’m kinda done with the mothership

I don't blame you. I'm thankful I at least had the option to get the part, at the expense of my warranty. It sucks because I REALLY want Colt to succeed with their current revolvers. They're perfect in every way when functioning correctly.

Stuff like this just really upsets me though.

Hmm. The spring is not gonna be a MIM part.

Following with interest.

I've a few modern Colts, but haven't had any problems with any. Hopefully, the company does the OP right.

Well, you buy a cheap gun, you get cheap parts. (he said, ducking lol)

I agree, their warranty policy sucks. Even forgetting their either/or part or repair policy, a one year term, as opposed to lifetime with other makers, is ridiculous.

Surprised the warranty is only good for a year, but not surprised the won't warrant the gun if you do repairs yourself. Most manufacturers require warranty repair service done by them or an authorized repair agent, for obvious reasons. Is giving up the gun for 8 weeks worth keeping such a short term warranty?
