For me, "concealed" means in the pocket. Period. There is really no other option. IWB is absolutely out of the question. And I H A T E untucked shirts. But.... Lately I have felt the need to carry more gun than the five shot .38. So I've been packing a 1911 in a not-concealment holster. While I'm at work, I pull my shirt out over it. Simply so that some Karen that may come by won't freak out (most of the time I'm totally alone at work). It is covered, but not REALLY concealed, but that's good enough. If I'm not at work, the shirt is tucked. ;)

The most-common is an untucked shirt as the cover garment, with a moisture-wicking undergarment underneath everything. Sometimes, the shirt functioning as the cover garment is open/unbuttoned, and, sometimes, it is closed-front. I like to wear shirts that look OK with the bottom one or two buttons left unbuttoned.

My primary weapon’s default position, for about three decades, was 0300-0330, but recently, has crept a bit forward of 0300. I have experimented with AIWB, but doubt I will go all-in, largely because I would rather reserve the area of the inguinal crease for the occasional large blade.

Edited to add: I am actually in a state of transition. I retired from LEO-ing in 2018, which changes some things which had been important, such as the desire to tote the same weapon system as my duty pistol, during personal time. Plus, my right hand, arm, and shoulder are not aging well, so I appreciate weapons that “clear leather” quicker. Plus, I may be switching to left-side-primary. (I am actually left-handed, naturally, but right-armed, and sufficiently ambidextrous that it made sense to carry big guns on my right hip, way back in 1983, when I established my “primary” carry position.) So, what I type, today, may change within a short time.

Undershirt or T-shirt with IWB holster and a lightweight shirt in summer. P938 Legion.

OWB holster with a fleece or outer wear in winter. HK P30SK

IWB, works good, is easy. Also, if I'm wearing a jacket - common shoulder holster. Shoulder holster could probably be hidden by wearing over a t-shirt, and putting a flannel shirt on over it, but I've never really checked it out, but have thought it could work. Also, outdoors sometimes will just wear either the shoulder holster, or a military surplus outer waistband holster for a beretta 92.

for casual warm weather carry, an under shirt t-shirt of your choice tucked in and a squared hem bowling type shirt, aka Tony Soprano shirt works well enough to conceal any large semiauto IWB.

Our shirt preference is complete opposites.
I loathe having my shirt tucked in, just no.
If my sloven ;) untucked shirt (representative specimen pictured) is not acceptable, I don't belong.
A Glock 20SF is easily concealed AIWB under a print / pattern shirt like this. :)

Have these trigger guard holster for all my CCW guns. But only micro's, snubbies and Pocket guns. Much less, thin so as to not need larger pant waist size. Apendix ONLY

I tried IWB with a Hellcat and a Muddy holster. Too slow and uncomfortable. Impossible to re-holster without partially disrobing. A custom holster OWB from E.B.Leather for CZ P-01 and for 97b at 3:30. A light jacket or light cotton vest in warm weather conceals fine and covers a spare magazine as well. The vest is handy for carrying a cell phone and a leather credentials case also. The Hellcat is a great little gun and the Muddy s good holster. Just not for me. IMG_3704.JPG

Crossbreed belly band worn as it should be! Pistol ends up at four o'clock or so, right in the same place an IWB holster would end up. I carried in a "normal" belly band in that same location before Crossbreed came out with their real-holster-velcroed-to-belly-band option. The real holster is a big step up from the generic elastic belly band, and wearing it where it is supposed to be is a massive step up.

Shield .45, by the way, with endless options for various holsters!

Wearing tucked-in shirt for work.

Both?

I use a tuckable holster because I tuck my shirt occasionally (church, date night with the wife) but usually use the same holster with an untucked shirt.

Always IWB, preferably with a Vedder Light Tuck.

I carry 95% of the time OWB with an untucked shirt or a jacket on in colder weather. I dress around the gun as a matter of habit and have found that it's never been a problem. Now if I was frequenting beaches, I'd have to come up with another means...A loose fitting t-shirt is my normal summer wear here in KY and it covers the 3-4 o'clock holster quite well. I buy x-long ones with a pocket...

I've been 'made' twice in 30+ years of carrying. Once when a detective stopped by to get our statements after our cabin was burglarized...a nice guy, very thorough, and asked if I had any training. (Military and 3x through a defensive handgun course). He commented that the Sig I was toting was a good idea in the western NC mountains now that the druggies have pretty much taken over the valleys. The other was by a close friend who knew my 'hobbies' and wondered about the bulge under my t-shirt...the answer was, "that's my colostomy bag...care to see it?" He declined!

YMMv, HTH's Rod (Here's the setup for my Sig P365 with the t-shirt tucked in...it's completely hidden with the shirt untucked.)

Tried and hated IWB holsters. If my G42 isn't in my pocket then my Shield or XDS rides in a Don Hume OT leather holster at 4:00 covered by a t shirt. I don't care that it prints from time to time. People are clueless and don't notice. If they did notice anything, they'd probably think it was a phone

Summer carry is LCP in a wallet holster time, so in a T-shirt and jeans all is well. On rare occasion when I must level up an un-tucked button down cover is in order. Spring, Fall, or Winter when the weather is such that I want to wear something warm I will frequently switch it up to either IWB or OWB carry with a bigger gun covered un-tucked. My woods guns will then become standard carry dependent on caliber choice and how or where I'm headed.

I live in Colorado and I live in an area where a lot of people do all their shopping at REI.

I wear Wrangler Cargo Pants and Red Head or Cabela's camp shirts. In the winter I wear a flannel shirt and a fleece and I blend right into the crowd.

I didn't realize HOW MUCH I blended in until last year when I had an appointment with an audiologist and I noticed that with the exception of the color of the pants every guy in the room was dressed EXACTLY like me.

I looked like a bean in a pile of beans.

They make these in various sizes. I've carried a G19 in one IWB at 4 o'clock with shirt tail tucked on several occasions for 12-14 hours at a time while hiking. It has never moved. Normally I carry a smaller G43 or Sig 365, which aren't really pocket pistols, but are more comfortable that the bigger G19. But it can be done with the bigger gun.

Even with shirt tails in only a tiny bit of the grip is visible above my belt, and enough of the shirt tail comes out to mostly cover it.

I'm an OWB carry guy. 6'2" and 290lbs. allows me to carry The Cannon in a 1791Gunleather.com rig. Either at 3 or 5 o'clock with an un-tucked 3X shirt, and I've never been accused of carrying when I didn't want it known. I don't care for open carry so don't do it. IMG_4156.JPG IMG_4157.JPG

For me, warm weather requires pocket carry. It's just how my work attire goes. Tucked in polo.

When it gets cooler, I switch to my more casual work attire. Tee shirt with open flannel over. What can i say, i havent changed my preferred style since 1993...at least I stopped tying the flannel around my waist;)

For me, that set up is not only more comfortable it also allows for me to OWB a revolver at about 4 o'clock.

That said, on a warm weekend when I'm not dressed for work I usually go with a Shield .45 carried IWB in a Foxxx holster. Undershirt to keep the gun from rubbing against my skin, untucked tee over it. Works well enough.

I read this a lot and it confuses me, a tucked in shirt, slightly bloused (as I do for comfort anyway) actually conceals better than an untucked shirt most of the time. Only issue would be fully concealing the clip, but they make j-hooks that work pretty well for that.

Of course, I also have muscular legs so for pocket carry to conceal better, especially sitting, I need a waisted about 30 sizes too big and have big tent pantlegs.

Well i wear my shirt TUCKED in. I don't blouse my it at all, and I am bending, moving, and getting in and out of my truck in front of customers and clients all day. I really need it to be invisible.

I have the typical build of my family. Broad shouldered with long monkey arms, narrow waist, and disproportionately short thin legs. Boot cut jeans hide a pocket .380 or even a .38 just fine, but anything in or on my belt sticks out like a sore thumb. I love when it gets cooler or when I can dress more casually with an untucked shirt. Im thick enough in the back and shoulders that i have a pretty good pocket of space for a larger gun.

Glock 19 in the right cargo pocket (using left handed / sweat shield Remora as a pocket holster) and spare mag/flashlight in the left cargo pocket. Not a fast draw, but it's always there and having stuff in the cargo pocket draws zero attention and provides no opportunity for inadvertently revealing the gun.

My issued gun is a GLOCK 19, so I usually wear a slightly oversized shirt to cover my service gun or my own gun in a strong side, outside the waistband holster with a spare mag in a carrier on my weak side or slipped into my waist pocket, it works well for me in "hot" Florida. I could use a vest or wind breaker, when I worked out west in MONTANA.

I use a Desantis IWB pancake type for 1911's. Works great for shorts and "stays tucked" tshirts untucked. Just bought an Alien Gear cloak tuck (or whatever they call it) for my P228 because it looked really similar to the Desantis. It's comfy, but I've lost 2 screws in 4 days. Tried tightening, and the tension is way too much. So it's probably going in the useless holster drawer.
