Feel way better, cept for the ouchy where lapro came in on other side by hernia mesh.
Thats sore but I'm thinking screw the pain killers..

Also wonder how much of my hip/back pain was this appendix deal flaring up, off and on the last 5 months.
Maybe it didn't, maybe it did.........and now I'll be more stealthy :)

Can't hang stands or nothing for at least 2 weeks. proly 3 so plenty of time.

My MuddyOutfitter is 22# or so.
Might just pick my tree in 3 weeks and have my bud hang my stand.
He finished it last yr when I blew out my elbow.

I guess that nobody kicks the leaves away and leans against a tree anymore.

I do it all the time usually near a blown down tree with roots in the air.

find a group of bigger nut trees like oak, hickey and walnut. Then

Is that the squirrels giving hickey's or ate the trees getting frisky.

No shooting or stand work this weekend.
Just got home............rough night.............appendix removed.
Ouchy.
The ol lady and kid went to fetch my Jeep from the ER parking lot.

Sorry to hear that hope you feel better soon.

I prefer sitting on the ground using natural cover and I won't use a box blind unless it is raining or snowing. To use natural cover it is necessary to have both back cover and front cover. I have two favorite stand locations where I sit on the ground hidden by natural cover. The first one is with my back against a creek bank watching a drainage with my front covered by sumac bushes and skunk brush. With an east wind the deer can follow the drainage without ever knowing I am there. The second location is with a sloping hill behind me with my back against a sage brush with broom weeds and sage hiding my front. Again, with a west wind the deer can follow a creek drainage without ever knowing I am there. I do have several box blinds made of plywood but I only use them when it is raining or snowing. Otherwise I use natural blinds. In many years of hunting I have only taken one deer from a box blind. I hunt big mature bucks and for the most part they are smart enough to stay away from box blinds.

Another one that has had some nice ones hanging out at the protein feeder.

Old faithful, that’s not going to be used this year. I’m more of a hog guy and trapping has been ridiculously more successful now that I have cellular cameras and triggers on the traps.

We have a couple of these setup, this is the tripod, the other is strapped to a tree. I don’t know if anyone has ever used one, I haven’t.

The mobile murder machine is a $100 Toyota Yaris, you can’t go where the utv’s or 4wheelers can but I’d you stick to the trails and establish paths, the thing makes less noise than an electric golf cart.

Jmorris, thanks for the tour. Looks like we used similar materials for the supports. Like the added height those poles provide.

Here's a commercial blind my brother picked up (Redneck Blinds), he's got almost as much in it as I did building our tower blind.

God, now I feel bad for anything you shoot. It doesn't even have the choice not to ride in one of those ..........

Only one got a ride. After my buddy and his wife got done washing all the blood off it. I think they decided it’s a better sneaking up and shooting vehicle, then go back and get their ranger for the haul.

Some nice stands. I am at the mercy of the landowner as far as blinds and stands since I live too far away. I am thinking about building a portable elevator so I get into my tree stand. It sounds like my arm cast will be off for deer season.
