My dad gave me some old plastic Speer ammo boxes and I thought they were cool. I have different ones in 9mm, .357 Magnum, and .44 Magnum. The .44 Magnum was the only one with a price tag still on it and found it amusing.

I don't own a .44 Magnum anymore, but pretty sure you can't buy 200gr hollowpoints for $.25 a round these days.

I have an old yellow plastic 20-round Speer .30-30 box that has $5.15 on the price tag. Kinda fun to go down memory lane with those .

Stay safe.

Yup, the Olde Days - when a dollar was actually worth something.
I remember the good old days when a dollar was worth .25..... and my brother was employed as an attendant at the Austin State Hospital working 48 hours/week night shift for $180/month while going to the U. Of Texas full time. Plus he was making a house payment and had a wife & two kids.
Yet he still managed to buy a brand new 4” S&W Combat Masterpiece .38 Special. That was 60 years ago, and he still has it in 99% condition with the box & papers.

Ah, the good old days when prices were low———but wait a minute, so were wages. It’s called inflation. “I want a raise in pay”. “Ok, but you are going to have to work harder to produce more so I can pay you more”. “No, I’m working too hard now”. “ Ok, you can have your raise but I will have to raise the price of what you are producing to cover the cost of your raise”. That’s inflation. No one, wage earner or product seller, is really gaining anything.

And yet people keep beating the drum to raise the Minimum Wage -- don't they understand that's a zero sum game?

I think my oldest that actually has a sticker price tag on it is a box of .22 LR Winchester Wildcat with a price tag from Target of $1.19.

When was that stuff made the 1990s? .$6.27 for 25) 44 mags. That's pretty cheap.
I inherited a bunch of old ammo from my father and father in law when they passed and the prices on them are comical.

The green Remington box on top is marked $6.20 for 50 38 spl, and the bottom Remington box is .357 Mag. at $730 a box.
The old boxes of rifle ammo is below.

Imagine paying $5.00 a box for .308s
Those old Remington Express 16 ga rifled slugs were what I started hunting deer with in 1970 when I was 12. I had to use my dads old Model 37 Ithaca. That gun didn't weigh anything and it kicked hard to a 12 yr old.

Went out and shot my first deer rifle after it having sat for 29 years while I tried newer and other platforms. My dad said I needed to try some different loads for it and said he had bullets and powder I could have. I have no idea how old this stuff was. I seem to recall powder being in cans back in the late 90's or so...
