Belt - Nylon ?

When the pain hits you and you know its time to go, time is of the essence. Lol

dog gone it, I've been there and have a few fails under my belt (pun intended). "A horse, a horse! My kingdom, for a horse!" So wrote William Shakespeare, but for me it was, "Ten more yards, and a Cobra buckle!" One of the nicest things about THR is that we can discuss these failures without fear of reproach, within reason.

I have a Tactical First belt, thick nylon mesh and velcro. Been wearing it for a few years and is holding up really well. But it is pretty much like the 5.11 tactical trainer but with the velcro. That belt design seems simply a bit of a pain to put on and take off though.
I recently ordered a Simply Rugged holster and was looking at their belts. They come in 1.5 and 1.75 width for $50 and up depending if you want it with borders or designs. If their belts are as good as their holsters I think that is an outstanding value.

Pay attention to what you're ordering.

Their "Real Man's Gunbelt" is a single layer belt that goes for $50ish. Their dual layer laminate belt, like most leather gun belts, starts at $80, just so you're comparing apples to apples.

I'm not knocking their single layer belt, it may be perfectly fine for the use you have intended, but there is a reason it costs $50 and their other belt costs $80.

Thanks for all the great help with advice and suggestions. I ordered and tried the belt I originally posted. I really like the stiffness and how it held my holster and pants in position. However, I didnt like the (cheap) buckle operation, in combination with such a stiff belt, and due to an injury, I wasnt able to sufficiently tighten the belt. If it wasnt for that, I would probably be satisfied with this cheap belt. There is a specific method to tighten this belt, but again, its difficult and even with a fully able bodied person, this belt still has a tendency to slip (loosen), just prior to the last cinch of tightening.
I was able to determine that I do like the feel of a nylon belt, so I believe Im going to order these

The owner told me that the "conceal carry" belts have a stiff nylon core in them, compared to their other options. Im considering the box set, where I can have one belt for work, one for dress, with an extra belt, and two different buckles.
Anyone ever order from this company ?

Kore nylon gun belt. Has been my EDC belt for about 4 years now and just starting to show some wear along the bottom. Probably has another 4 before I would bother replacing it. I have a leather one for more dress up occasions.

I would agree, have two (brown and black) and with a push of a button you can unlatch it for a quick drop if needed. Anson Belts is another company that sells nylon reinforced CC belts (I have a grey), and they have some better looking buckles, and if I remember, about 10 bucks less expensive.

That made me laugh right there. Its sad but true.

I almost went with them, and I hope I dont regret it later. I just placed my order with Anson a few hours ago.
Thanks for the reply.

Another vote for Kore...

I have several Wilderness Tactical Instructor belts. They are good quality belts, they last forever and they're reasonably priced.

BUT

I ordered one on the 17th of September. The advertisement implied that they had the belt in stock and ready to ship immediately.

I want to be clear, this was not a custom sized belt. It was a regular sized belt that they implied was in stock.

My wife contacted them on September 30 to check on the order and the woman she spoke to was really short with her and that's when we found out each belt was made to order and took 7 to 10 BUSINESS days to make and ship. They told my wife this was their normal practice.

I posted a review on their Facebook page on approximately October 1 and was told I could take my business elsewhere if I was unhappy with their procedures.

They shipped the belt the next day and I got it on the 5th. It's a good belt but it's going to take you almost 3 weeks to get it.

If that's OK with you go for it. I won't ever buy from them again unless I have no other option.
