OK, how about the LARGEST handgun you ever owned

I have a few larger revolvers with 6” barrels, however my largest handgun is actually an autoloader.

I got this Zastava M92PV in 2015 when they were still very reasonably priced, and since have slowly been getting it set up just how I want it. I finally got around to replacing the stock wood hand guards yesterday with a very nice set in Russian plum color from Manticore arms and I’m very happy so far.

I just bought another one to compete for the crown. Keystone Chipmunk Hunter. It’s a long time wishlist gun, and it’s finally a reality... or will be at Christmas when the kids give it to me. That reminds me of one other large one I had in the past... Ruger Charger. I didn’t Much care for the charger. It was too easy to just burn ammo without really trying to make shots. Bolt action will slow me down and force me to be more intentional

Just thought I'd post the picture again ...

The Walker by size and weight, although the Old Armies aren’t exactly light weights. To some folks these wouldn’t count being charcoal burners but fully loaded as heavy hitting as many. Not shown several N frame Smiths, magnums all. E1855DBD-A52A-4A78-8F9C-50E3A2191B3F.jpeg

A registered hand gun in 22lr. 30 1/4” from the Trinity Force Pistol brace to the thread protector on the 14 1/2” barrel. The MOE SL handguard and front sight are at mid-length.

This is Mongo, my largest handgun. He weighs four and one half pounds. He is chambered in .45 P.I.T.A. A self explanatory acronym. A 45-70 case cut down to 1 1/2". I made Mongo a few years back out of scraps of steel and a barrel that Les gave me.

Obviously a copy of a Rolling block, with a few tweaks, all coil springs being one. I chambered Mongo with a drill bit :what: and screwed up my first attempt. Mongo was supposed to be a .45 Colt. A one size larger bit and a lot more care resulted in a serviceable chamber that the shortened 45-70 case fit in nicely.

My favorite load is a 385 gr 45-70 bullet ahead of all the 4227 that I can stuff in the case, about 18 grains Recoil is mild and I have no idea what the velocity is. Probably not more than 600-700 FPS, but judging by how hard it whacks my steel gong I'm guessing it packs a pretty good wallop.

I had a T/C Contender in 45/70 with a 16 inch barrel. My load was a 500 gr Postell, as cast bullet lubed with machine grease and 50 gr by volume of FFFG. I took a few deer with it, but I like rifles more, so I sold it.
