What type of front sight do the CVA colonial pistols take? I've heard them called "Jukars" but dont see that anywhere on it.

I got one of these that's missing this sight along with some other quirks. Not familiar with them at all, but would like to get one on it. Have already shot it with no issues really, besides not being able to hit anything with it!

The barrel just has a hole in the front sight position, i'd guess around 1/8 of an inch round. Any input would be appreciated.

Might consider a bit of brass welding rod and carefully solder it in place, leave a little long and file to desired impact at range, then round top wit fine sandpaper.

Sounds like you're describing this with a post sight-

I had a CVA Colonial pistol that I picked up with a CVA Kentucky pistol and a Ruger Old Army that were all in pieces in a plastic tool box with a heap of accessories mixed in. I was shocked when I finally figure out that all the parts were actually there because they were almost completely broken down. The CVAs were kits that had only been played around with but not finished and the ROA was tore apart for who knows what reason. I used to refer to them as my box o' guns.
Auctioned off the Colonial pistol on Gunbroker for just under what I paid for the whole box o' guns n stuff.

I used a piece of brass rod on a revolver that was missing it's post.

Jukar was/is(?) a manufacturer in Spain that made many of the single shot pistols for some American importers. If your gun is marked as made in Spain, there is a good chance that it was made by them. This one has a blade sight:

If you scroll down this thread at the Muzzleloading Forum past a couple of pistols, you will come to a CVA Colonial Pistol parts list and diagram that shows the sight separate from the barrel:

Thanks for the info. I see the triangle sight, does look quite small.

I think I'll try the brass rod.

Now... where's that soldering iron...

The front site fell off of my 58 remmie clone, bad attachment @ the factory and I just used some flux and solder and a lighter I bought at the store, then clamped it and tightened the clamp as I was heating everything up. Before I dropped the site in the hole, I fluxd it, then put in a bead of solder in the hole. 20200920_180918.jpg
So far, so good!

20200927_182041.jpg Yes, it is.
I think I only paid about $10.00 or $12 for it.

BTW: This is the clamp I used. I got everything hot enough that the tip of the sight was imbedded about 1/16 into the top of the clamp.
