New member here

I'm from Minnesota, used to regularly hunt, but life got busy and just haven't had the time. Now it's just target shooting mostly, been slowly building up my collection, have a few rifles ARs and pistols.
Looking to get into more long range shooting/ hunting if you count prairie dogs as hunting.
Hopefully starting to reload by next year for a couple calibers.

Hello everyone. I live on a hobby farm in Minnesota. I grow a lot of food and have some animals, I also work a day job doing work in IT.

I have a 1 lane range that I just put in this year, only 100 yards, but I hope to extend it eventually (have a large tree in the way). I recently took a greater interest in building AR's rather than just shooting purchased AR's, part of that journey led me to this site since I had no one in my immediate circle who was interested in geeking out about details around AR parts, builds, etc. I have plenty of friends that like to shoot, but none that are interested in debating the best twist rate for a 10.5 inch barrel shooting a particular grain ammo, etc. etc. I think you get the idea. So far I haven't been disappointed here on the high road.

I'm also into open-source software and various Linux operating systems (customization in tech being similar to AR building!), I like to study history, and various permaculture/prepping/survival-related topics/skills development topics.

I made a few posts already before introducing myself, probably out of order a bit, but better late than never right?

Not really new, but it's been over 10 years since I used to hang out here. Around 2005 my wife and I took up competitive skeet, and I just wasn't that interested in the milsurps or hunting anymore. Skeet bug died out by 2009, and, sold the reloaders and the expensive shotguns. Got a ham radio license, and taught myself Morse code and that has kept me busy in my spare time for years. Well, now I have more spare time. Early in the summer, I made it a project to go through all the guns in the back of the safe and do all the little repairs and upgrades I'd been meaning to get to. That was fun, and it just kept rolling into setting up for solid projectile loading, a renewed C&R license, some range time, hunting licenses and duck stamp. I don't have any desire to get back into competition of any type though. Yet.

Not so new, been a couple of years since I’ve been on the site, don’t have a good excuse for not sticking with it, still recognize a lot of the old members here.

I resemble that remark. Yes, many of us are not-so-new, but that means we have learned many expensive lessons and are looking for more! Welcome back!

Hello, Drew here from Kansas.

Im 38, just made foreman working on power lines and have been into guns since I could shoot them. My old man got me into rifles, I got myself into handguns and other things semi-automatic which is what I've been on lately.

My Wife and I just finished building a house. It has a few things I wouldnt be without especially now. One of those is a dedicated gun area, so now I can get back into reloading, which is why I'm here lol.

Ive been here before but dont even remember my user name. It seems the more I've learned the more there is I dont know.

Anyways, I look forward to learning from the good people here with knowledge and experience

Good to have you here I reloaded years ago and got out of it when ammo was cheap and available. I guess I’m pretty lucky I kept a lot of my dies and such and a very good friend got out of hand loading He set me up with every thing I needed to get rolling again. The people on this forum are the most willing to help of any other forum I’ve been associated with all you need do is ask. Hope all goes well with your foreman’s job and building your house Jimmy
