What firearm fired today?

My kid and I put a bunch of holes in a pizza box from about 15 feet with his near mint condition special anniversary edition Red Rider. It's in my profile pic. We still have all our eyes.
My local pizzeria puts a nice big multi colored 10 ring target on the box. Was nice for a while, had a nice stack of boxes to use for targets, probably wont be getting them anymore though because I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to gluten, soy and dairy after 32 years with no allergies.

Hate to hear about your food allergy situation. My 9 year old has a couple of food allergies that we became aware of when he was 2. People don't realize that you can grow into them as easily as growing out of them. Shame about the pizza box targets. Maybe a crustless or gluten free crust option will become available and you can stock up on some more targets.

Tried a few 9mm reloads today in the P228. Liked them well enough, I went ahead and put some more together to try.

Went out again today .......

As usual I shot S&W Victory .22
Beretta Nano 9mm
Canik TP9 SF 9MM
Colt SAA 44-40 ( not mine )
M1 carbine .30 ( not mine )
I always get to shoot something new to me because my girlfriends dad has a nice collection and always brings something different to share.

Forgot to mention that I fired12rounds through my Dan Wesson 15-2 , I had made them up this morning and wanted to test them out before making up a big batch. They shot well , so I'll continue with loading them up.

Hi...
My son and I went to the gun club today.
What did I shoot???
I shot 20 rounds each through my Dan Wesson .44Magnum, Ruger Super Blackhawk .44Magnum, S&W Classic 29 and stainless Virginian Dragoon in .44Magnum. Also my Marlin lever action rifle in .44Magnum but only ten rounds.
Shot 20 rounds each through my Taurus DA 5 shot revolver, two Ruger flat top BlackHawks and a Cimarron SA clone in .44Spl.
Shot 20 rounds each through my two Ruger Blackhawks, my S&W 57 and my Dan Wesson DA revolver in .41Magnum.
Shot 20 rounds each through my S&W 25, Ruger Blackhawk, Uberti Cattleman, Uberti Schofield and 1875Remington clone in .45Colt. Also ran 10 rounds through my Contender in .45Colt.
Shot 20 rounds through my S&W 686 Silhouette Model .357Magnum revolver.
Finished up by shooting four magazines through my Springfield Armory 1911 in .45ACP.

Pretty typical weekly trip to the gun club.

My son shot even more rounds than I did. He shot and equal amount of revolver rounds but with more emphasis on the .357Magnjm revolvers...most of which I didn't shoot today.
He also shot a huge number of rounds through various 9mm, 10mm, .40S&W and .45ACP auto loaders.

I will be busy tomorrow separating and tumbling brass. I have two large plastic Folgers coffee cans full of fired brass...probably around seven hundred pieces of brass.

2490192_03_the_vz_58_v_v_sadkov_airborne__640.jpg :) Czechpoint VZ-58 with iron sights:
Not an AKM, * totally different action (rotating "linear bolt"), and short stroke piston.
German company Lothar manufactures the barrels. Kept the box flaps from ammo used so far (in plastic bag) and 1,400 rds. total, perfect ops.

An MOA of 1.65 :scrutiny:, with a Czechpoint VZ-58, was achieved by Rob Ski on “AKOU” (Youtube), at 300 yards with a red dot scope. Heretical talk.

My targets are mostly large drink bottles at 25-50 yards!:D Fun! 25yard Action Pistol ranges are almost like private land.
1) Comparative privacy and 2) full-time target Access...versus distance....is worth it. If I die next week, there would be zero regrets about such hillbilly shooting.

I thought I had grabbed a photo at the range but guess not...

But anyway, I've had my Sig M400 AR for a few months now and never fired. Decided to try and get the Sig Romeo MSR sighted in. Thought I did a decent job on a larger target at 10 yards, went for a smaller target at 20 yards and things went wonky. I had one of the shop/range guys help me get it in and gave him a little tip. He said my optic wasn't made for longer ranges and would suggest a scope or magnifier.

Also ran 150 rds thru my Glock 35, more enjoyable to shoot than my MP40

Also brought along my Taurus TX22 as usual, probably another 200 rds thru that

I figured you might be busy cleaning guns, sounds like a great day!

I went out to the trap club and shot a couple of rounds with my Citori. I've had to open the place up the last two weeks and have had the place to myself. It was nice to see some familiar faces out there today.

I had some one ounce handloads that weren't quite doing it until I started using the upper barrel with the full choke. I went from misses (or maybe the targets just weren't breaking) to little puffs of dust. Lots of fun.

Then, because I haven't practiced with my EDC in a few weeks, I stopped by the pistol range. I only had about 30 rounds with me, but that was all I felt like shooting. I didn't bring my timer and didn't plan on serious shooting, just mostly concentrate on my grip, sight picture/alignment, trigger - y'all get the idea. Anyway, here's a picture of the target after the last three shots. IMG_20201004_200936013.jpg

I admit that target has had a lot of love, and I don't consider myself that good of a shot. This was at 20 yards. Fliers? Keyholes? I'm going to have to replcate this with a clean target and my timer before I get really excited.

Hi...
Simple explanation...my son is tasked with the gun cleaning chore.
I have cleaned guns since the '60s...his turn now. I will confess to cleaning one or two guns now and then but only when I feel like it and quite frankly the older I get the less often I feel like it.
One of the perks of being retired...I get to shoot just about every week and I have people(my son) to do the things I don't like or want to do. I pick and choose the tasks I perform(one of the perks of being the parent)...I process brass and reload the majority of our revolver ammuntion. My son cleans guns and reloads our semi auto pistol ammuntion as well as our rifle cartridges.

I shot my
CZ SP-01
CZ P-07
Sig P320
Sig P365

The CZ's were very nice to me. The Sig's were not quite as accurate, but still good.

The 1955 Ithaca model 37 featherweight 20 gauge with the a compensator Polychoke shot a pheasant or two today. It has taken a licking (before I got it) but keeps on ticking.

Both Beretta Nano's. One has the ARX Carry grip.

I've got one of those Nanos with the APX grip. Is that a Nano magazine with a Pearce extension in it? Love the gray frame -- might have to get myself one of those.

I shot it on Friday, along with my SIG P320 pseudo-X-Compact (Subcompact upper in a Wilson Combat X-Carry frame), a S&W 642, and a SIG P250-22.

Yes, the picture has the Pearce grips. I also have the 8 rd mags and the Gallaway extended Grips. Both guns are the Nano. I love these guns so will also be getting a APX carry as well. The Apx from what I have heard does accept the Nano mags of which I have about a dozen. So that will work out.

Here is a Nano with a APX slide and vice versa.(notice the APX actually come with the Pico front sight which is taller.)

Savage .22LR, produced in the 1950s.

Where, is the best part. On a nearby rural riverbank.

Target? Who needs 'em?---tiny pockmarks at bottom of steep bank, approx. 100 yards.

I took a retiree to do his qualifications today, so I brought along my 4” S&W Model 64 and a few of my plate-load .38 Spl. rounds. These are loaded with 3.5 gr Unique and an Eggleston 146 gr coated RNL bullet.

I seriously think I stumbled onto a load that shoots well in my 4” 686+ (a tad low) but is a super load in the M-64, hitting right at POI at ten yards.

Since I’m not constrained to a shot-a-second pace here, I fired 12 shots as fast as I could get the sights back in the red and pull the DA trigger through its stroke ... which meant with this load it was fast.

I’m pretty happy with this load. It easily stays on 12-yard 6” plates with two different guns as fast as I can shoot them, has recoil comparable to a Wadcutter load and should be a great trainer for beginners learning how to shoot a revolver.

Stay safe.

Cheap and effective, perfect training round.

This is pretty cool, is this an urban area?
