Disappointed in Nosler

This is a very real thing.

Agreed, but if they didn't already have a way for Customer Service employees to work remotely (email, access to RMA data, access to production scheduling / shop order system, and so forth) before COVID19 - they're well and truly snowed right about now.
Agreed. So it would make perfect sense to communicate that with the customer and not leave them wondering. A minute or two of consideration goes a very long ways towards customer satisfaction.

Dont know about the guns, but I stopped using Nosler ballistic tip bullets many years ago.Very inconsistent weights etc. Went with Hornady SST bullets for all calibers and have never looked back. Now using Hornady ELD-X for certain applications that are working well.
Hmm, I always heard NBT's were fantastic. I have a couple boxes of them for my 7mm-08, glad I bought them last year because even alot of hunting cartridges are sold out/no backorder. It's crazy, I was looking for some 7mm-08 FMJ ammo to target practice with a lil bit and cant find any. I dont want to shoot all my premium hunting rounds but everywhere is out of stock....

I was a BT guy for many years ,then bam they didn't do well. In 7mm-08 as well. Don't know what happened the accuracy deteriorated. Had to look elsewhere and found a home.

I too am a Hornady fan. My brother loves NBTs. But I've had weird results using the 95 NBT.
I applaud Nosler got picking up the 280AI though. It's a great cartridge that deserved to be a factory round a long time ago.

I haven't heard anything from Nosler since they said their 'smith was going to rebarrel the rifle over a month ago. I guess he's being very meticulous.

OP, sorry to hear about your situation. Anymore, these days I just pick the action, pick the barrel blank of choice and find a great gunsmith to marry them together, with me choosing the wedding vows (i.e. throat, leade, etc.). Is it more expensive than buying off the shelf, yes. Do I feel it is worth it, well my experiences and hearing about experiences such as this, yes.

I don't get much time to enjoy my hobby so having quality over quantity makes a lot of sense in my mind. Maybe just something to think about for the OP, there are a lot of great actions and barrel blanks to choose from, and posting where your location is at on this board, I'm betting there will be some recommendations for great gunsmiths.

Ive got a box of 250 JHP. .429 240 grainers.
They are visibly inferior to the ones i have from (guessing) 7-10 years ago. Machine/tool marks. Chaff. Noses bent [my nose is bent too] They didnt seem to trim the cabbage off these....may i add they were about 3 times as expensive. Uggh.
