Do you need to have the advanced Brickseek or will the free one work? I tried the free one and gave up after about 30 minutes. That was with an iPad. Maybe a PC would work better. Dunno

If I found $50-100 rifles, I’d buy every one they had

Go to the free brickseek on any computer Mac or iPhone etc. Use the inventory checker, select Walmart, they do not have any at Target. Use a word in the search, I use "rifle" and of course you have to put in your zip codes. It should then list out the deals by stores in your area. Some people are still finding rifle deals here and there, most are long gone for this year but never hurts to keep looking, I am watching a few now.

Brickseek showed some at Wally 40 miles away. Got there and asked the nuclear physicist behind the counter. He said they didnt have a manager and couldn't sell me one anyway. Showed him on my phone what was listed and he refused to go back and check, pulled one from the display rack and scanned the tag, was full price.

Rather than deal w a dirty store and less than honest and or capable workers I just left.

Didnt need the rifle. Was gonna buy it for a kid. Walmart will never get another penny from me.

My local one is an absolute zoo. Might as well keep a police station inside.

I had 3 I was going to buy and the same guy got to all 3 stores before I got there.

So do you have to have actually completed the Form 4473 and commit to purchase before you get the price or do you just ask them to scan it?

No, you do not.

As to the process not being easy or straight forward, well, $29 Axis rifles and $99 Remington 700s, maybe it is not for everyone. I got beat a few times and had to be insistent once. Nobody was ever promised a rose garden without thorns.

Dang, I would love to have a 99 dollar 270 for taking out and having fun with and loaning it to family or something lol. Have any of y'all ever seen a 270 rifle that cheap at Wally world?? Tried using brick seek but it's not very intuitive lol.

I worked on my Remington 700 in .243 today. As I tried to boresight the scope again but when I tried to take off the top turrent cover the adjustment knob came off with it. Maybe why I couldn't get it sighted in. Luckily I recently bought a Leupold VX-2 scope that I needed to put on something. I also replaced the stock with a youth stock and a Legacy DBM kit. I hope to test it out and get it sighted in for my grandson's first hunt this weekend.

PM[/GALLERY]Pretty good update. Took the .243 to the range. It took a few shots for it to get sighted and settle in. The last 3 shots were right where I wanted. and measured .80 inches. I am pretty happy about that for a Walmart cheapy.
I should add that is 100 yards with 100 gr. Remington core-loks. I am tempted to reload for this rifle. I haven't reloaded for 243 since the 80's.

When I stopped by the Walmart today I spoke with the guy at the gun counter. He stated that Walmart is getting out of the gun business completely and his store isn't receiving more firearms shipments. Take it with a grain of salt but it might have some truth.

many guys say this but the facts seem to be... some walmart employees are clueless and some stores are not gonna sell firearms... others will continue...
