Hi All-

While winding down from the week, I was trying to think of my two favorite Shooting Accessories. What are your two? I am looking for suggestions for myself and others here.

For this discussion, I define Shooting Accessory as nothing that is part of the gun, or mounted on the gun, but makes the use of the gun better in some way. For example: Talon grips? No, great product, but mounted on the gun. Maglula loader? Yes, not part of the gun, and does enhance the shooting experience, by making it easier to load mags.

Barrel cooling fans, safety glasses, ear protecrion, pretty much anything you can buy to make the experience better and more effective and safe. Or any other benefit gained by an accessory.

Please post your favorites!

In fact, let's do this; feel free to post your suggestions with or without pictures, but also feel free to post just pictures of the items, and let people guess what they are. Hee hee.

My two are these, can you name them?

EDIT: Pic 1 my daughters hand, NOT mine, pic 2 the brown felt pen is used to hide the product name, also 2 flakes of Unique missed my cleaning, and parmesan cheese on table from pizza night. :p

Hahaha...I kind of assumed it wasn’t your “lovely” hand.

I would have to say my 2 favorite accessories are my Explorer Range Bag and my Uplula magazine loader.

Regarding my range bag, I have several gun boxes and range bags but my Explorer bag is the most versatile and most useful, especially when carrying 3 or 4 handguns, a variety of ammo, hearing protection, tools, markers, targets, etc.

Edit: Why do iPhones change Uplula to Upluka? Weird...

My number one accessory is definitely electronic ear protection. Specifically bluetooth enabled ear plugs style for hunting and the muff style for target shooting. This makes for nice hunts waiting for doves, squirrel, or waterfowl to come around. I can carry on a conversation with a buddy, listen to a podcast/music, and most comically talking on the phone with my sister and dropping a dove so quick after it took flight the guy with me thought I was just shooting grass pods. Currently using Walkers but looking to switch to a nicer product since the foam on the Walkers need replacing a few times a year.

Second would be MTM cases for my reloads. While there is something cool about cracking open a ammo can or popcorn tin of loose pistol reloads and just going to town the satisfaction of pulling out a single plastic case and loading out of it is akin to the slow methodical approach of a single shot shotgun. Also way more effective to keep track of load development than plastic baggies, or at least for the way my mind organizes.

My #1 has to be my glasses - spectacles - as they allow me to far more closely approach my marksmanship in my younger years than could ever possibly occur without them.

My #2 is Electronic Hearing Protection unless at an indoor range. All the echoes seem to overload the software's ability to function properly. So maybe hearing protection in general and electronic where appropriate.

At my age where "Life in prison" is not a deterrent, I was going to say my red dot or my scope and you turned it all around so I would have to say that my favorite accessory is my spotting scope, a Nikon Fieldscope 25-75X82 that allows me to see 22lr holes at 200 yards and my Mag Lula loader for my Kel-Tec PMR 30.

Ahhh I didn't think of the field scope, very true.

Whatbdo you like about MTM cases?

Spotting scope. If I'm at a range where people are shooting without silencers, then it is hearing protection.

Well built and thought out. The hinges last longer than other plastic box I've used for other, non shooting things. Go on their website and they have some really neat products I'm trying hard not to buy. They have some shotgun ammo boxes with a spot for waterfowl calls or shotgun chokes. I wish they had more offerings in the 16ga but I understand why they don't.

ETA: They also write the different cartridges a box will hold on the back of the box.

That's actually really cool, would make zeroing in the field easier and eliminate the need for a table. I would also dig it for hunting, again eliminating a bulky item like a portable blind.
