Unintended Consequences has always been in print and available for $30 from www.accuratepress.net.

Hope to have Kindle copies ready by yearend.

The sequel to UC, Cold Resolve, is coming some time after the election. With all the craziness, I can't release it until things settle down and I know what ending to use. The news gives me more material daily. That's why I haven't been on any gun boards for so long...

My publisher Accurate Press cut ties with Amazon because of certain business practices that Amazon insists upon if you want to do business with them.

Cool . Please come back and post when it's available for purchase. If you've cut ties with Amazon due to their policies I might otherwise miss out, and don't want to! (Warrior women .... geeesh; what do they know?).
I still have my first edition of UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES. The sequel can take its rightful place right next to it!:)

Will you ever off a audio book for either UC or this current book?

Thats great! UC is an excellent book, looking forward to the next one. Thanks for letting us know.

When I bought Unintended Consequences I got to shoot your Thompson. That was an irresistible deal. Got any plans for the sequel?

I personally have had enough of John and his books. I don't care if they give them away with gold bars I won't buy one.

He is not that great of an author nor that great of an ambassador for second amendment rights.

Yes I own a copy of UC but after reflecting on my experience with John it is my opinion he is a pompous person who does not deserve our support. Fool me once is all you will do.

There have been discussions, but the one fellow who was the most serious about getting it done wanted a particular woman to narrate it, and I didn't feel she was the proper choice.

I'm certainly open to suggestion about an audiobook, but that decision ultimately rests with my publisher, not me.

I'm sorry you feel this way, and I'm a bit perplexed by these comments, given your texts to me raving about the gun, and trying to apologize for your earlier angry missives, to which I replied that no apology was needed or wanted.

I hope you continue to enjoy your .500.

Got a question for you about your 500's.

I have a standard off the shelf 500 with the 8 3/8" barrel. I've loaded bullets up to 700 grs., I've noticed that it seems the heavier bullets need a faster twist.

I know S&W has to compromise with a twist rate to cover a wide variety of bullet weights. It would be nice to have a faster twist so that I would know it could stabilize the heaviest bullets.

Are you using a standard twist rate or a faster one? What kind of results have you seen? I know it's impossible but I swear on the 700's that you can see them curving to the right as they go downrange.

Factory twist rate is 1:18.75 and mine is 1:10. Mine will stabilize 725s@800 FPS. 725s are stable in the factory twist if driven over 1200 FPS which is only possible in the long barrels.

I loaned my first edition hard-bound to a friend. I did retain the cover-slip. Soon thereafter, he departed this earthly plane of his own volition, and I didn't know his family well enough to ask for its return. I figured it was Fate.

For years, I searched Amazon for an affordable replacement, without success. I'm pleased to have ran across Mr. Ross' posting, here, and just ordered a softbound copy. I'm looking forward to rereading the novel after too many years.

Fascinating!

Just looked up Unintended Consequences on Goodreads and the first review I read was a comprehensive, well-written 3-star review with a rather surprising ending. ("Kiri", September 13, 2009 is the reviewer)

"In the course of reading his book my attitudes toward automatic weapons changed. Previously I did not understand why a private citizen would ever need to own such a weapon. I do now appreciate that, according to the Bill of Rights, such weapons would fall into the category that a private militia would use. I also appreciate that some individuals just love guns, love collecting guns, and love shooting guns purely for target practice and the joy they get from the activity."

This is on my list, but Lord knows when I'll get around to reading it.

Thanks for the heads up on the sequel.
