Grandson's first deer

I am pretty proud of my 10 year old grandson. My son took him on his first hunt. It was late in the day when they got to their stand. In the thick woods the boy saw the deer first. He got up to stretch and looking behind the stand he spotted three deer. He whispered to his dad. They waited for the big doe to move to a spot to get a clear shot but she disappeared behind a tree. A little later he spotted a small buck in the brush and trees. His dad couldn't see it. He waited 5 minutes to get a clear shot then bang. One shot through the heart. Yup he did good.

I’ll never forget my first hunts with my Dad and my Grandfather, I’ll be he won’t forget this hunt with his Dad either.

I love seeing kids out hunting. Nice shooting, a memory he will have for the rest of his life. .
I am taking my grandson out this year, if he gets one I will get the hide tanned for him, $70.
If he gets a nice buck I will get it shoulder mounted.
