Just picked this up today from my FFL. 26 inch heavy profile barrel in .308, and it'll probably be a practice/plinking gun.
Seems quite nicely finished and I like the laminated stock (although it's heavier and not quite as weather resistant as a synthetic stock). I guess this was one of Remington's last gasps on the 783 line. Wonder if they'll resume making these?
