Unbelievable, dumb cleaning mistake - kills friend

"Unloaded" guns are no joke, they are very dangerous, because so many times, they're not. Rule # 1 applies.

I was taught ever gun is loaded. Even if you check and see its unloaded. Its loaded. Kinda hard to explain to my son. But video's like this help. I still freak out having to pull the trigger on my Glock to break it down. Hate it with a passion. Love my Glock. So its just a part of owning one.

man i cringed the first time pink guy got flagged less than a second in just like anytime i see anyone flag anyone.. yikes.

It's always with semi autos because the low information gun owner seems to think that just removing the magazine means the gun is unloaded. Is racking the slide back after taking the mag out to make sure it's clear ....

he had cleaned the unloaded gun and reassembled the gun and put the loaded magazine back then and dropped the slide.
unfortunately it didn't register that now a round had been chambered.

This is Fake, people, fake.

Don’t be so naive as to fall for this kind of stuff. There’s not even a hole in his light colored shirt.

This is likely an internet joke, or just made up to sell the quik clot and first aid “shooting” specific crap advertised b the video!

This crass “let me sell you some stuff at war prices with a scare tactic” is the kind of stuff that really bothers me, and worries me that some people running around armed are thinking a “med pack” is a solution for potentially getting in a gun fight, or that would be dumb enough to point guns at buddies and pull triggers?

Every lawful person can own a gun but fact is some aren’t responsible enough to trust with one, and should steer clear.

I don't think so. There is a translated news story further up in the thread. And, I posted this on another forum. Someone else found another news story from there as well...

Yes I understand it was on translate, but we live in the propaganda world now. Lately 4chan, Qanon, and other deep fakers have been trying new things.

Well, I’m not calling you untrustworthy or anything like that, nothing personal, I just find it all hard to believe. That’s all. I am sure people really do this though. It’s well documented.

I know of three different people that have shot a hole in a wall due to pulling the trigger after cleaning.
I hate having to pull the trigger on my Glock to break it down. Even after checking and rechecking. Still makes me nervous. Also get nervous dry firing. Again this is after checking to see if it's loaded.

Heck, I was in a LGS here in Albuquerque when the owner blew a hole in the wall with a shotgun from an AD/ND. Last time I ever went there.

Bill Jordan killed a fellow Peace Officer demonstrating his speed drawing and firing.

It can happen even to those most proficient.

This video doesn’t depict a danger of cleaning firearms around others.

It does not depict a danger of having ammunition in a cleaning area.

It does not depict a danger of administrative handling.

It does not depict a danger inherent to firearms ownership or handling.

It does not depict a unique or specific failing of proven firearms handling rules.

It does not depict an accident by any definition.

This video depicts incredibly irresponsible, negligent, ignorant, and indefensible, PURPOSEFUL actions which resulted in manslaughter.

Nobody in this forum or otherwise should pretend anything about this depiction could ever be excusable by circumstantial forgiveness in regard to any accidental causality during what would otherwise be routine behavior. Were not the pistol in pieces at the outset, but rather holstered on his hip then drawn, then he made the same INTENTIONAL act to point the weapon at the other man and pull the trigger, nobody in their right mind would dream of defending this as an accident. Both men purposefully raised a firearm, pointed it at another person, and pulled the trigger. No other context matters.

It's real video, but as can been seen in a number of other shooting videos out there, unless it's in the head there sometimes just isn't that much blood immediately. Either way, there are actually several videos out there very similar to this, usually from other countries but yeah, not the brightest people.

You know as many folks with interview and observations skills as there are on this board I am shocked no one has suggested that this was intentional.

Watch the facial expression and body language of the shooter. All the way back to when the victim is making his stupid motions.

I find it funny that every so often a video will come along like this and people call it fake because they dont see blood or a hole in a shirt. Then the cops and EMS, people who actually see shooting scenes frequently, come in and bring everyone back to reality.

1. Gunshot wounds dont always gush blood. Even wounds to the torso. You have a lot of space inside your torso to bleed into. Also if you stop the heart quickly either due to damage to the heart or cutting the nerves controlling the heart, the blood pressure drops really quickly. You are not going to have gushing blood if the heart isnt pumping that blood out. Ive investigated multiple homicides where the victim bled very little or not at all, externally. Also, the whole thing of large blood spatters (not splatter) on the wall behind the shot is movie stuff. We arent just balloons full of blood waiting to through liquid all over the place once punctured. You might get small droplets of blood and plasma, but nothing a crappy camera will pick up. Speaking of that, this victim could be bleeding out horribly for all we know. The camera isn't a 365 degree view.

2. Bullet holes in clothing are not always easy to find. Even in person. Folds in the clothing, color of the clothing, fabric type, etc... can make finding the hole a pain sometimes. A crappy camera isnt going to easily pick up a small caliber hole in a shirt.

The only drop of blood which came out of the buck I shot last season (6 creed at 40 yards) before my knife got to him was frothed from his nose. Not a single drop anywhere on his body. Double lung, and he died within feet of where he was shot. This wasn’t the first of such occurrence I have witnessed as a lifelong hunter and I do not expect it will be the last.

Just commentary toward the argument lack of immediate, gushing blood is evidence of deception. Sometimes I think too many folks get their education on wounding characteristics from Tarantino films.

I always leave ammo in a different room than where I clean guns. Usually even leave magazines in a different room. Finish cleaning, then go to the other room, load up and holster.
ALWAYS. Also, if I am not the only one home, if I need to leave the room to get something, I'll throw the slide in my pocket.

The video looks like a training video or anti-gun propaganda video. Not to say it couldn't happen or has never happened but it seems awfully "set up" to me.

The denial of this very real video by people here is mind boggling.

All three of the negligent discharges I have witnessed that resulted in gunshot injuries involved very little blood. Bleeding is often delayed for a few moments after a gunshot injury to the body. The video shows EXACTLY what one might expect from a chest shot, especially as there is very little time before the impact area is obscured on the video.

The people questioning the validity of the video, or John’s reasons for uploading it, are living in either a state of denial, or outright possessed of questionable judgement.
