Looks like someone reworked the rear sight. Please post more pictures when it comes in, real nice case colors!

XIX is 1963. You have an extremely early 1861. It might even be a Gregorelli & Uberti one. Or made during a transitional time when Uberti was apparently using up parts that had already been stamped with Gregorelli & Uberti markings.

Regarding the rear sight: it is normal for Gregorelli & Uberti's and early Uberti's to have a square notch rear sight from the factory. It's also normal for the hammer face to be solid with no notch for the safety pins.

I would be curious to see what the serial number is on your 1861 Navy. Being made in 1963 it's the earliest one I've ever seen and I suspect that's the first year any 1861 repro's were commercially manufactured.

The notches on the cylinder look very very clean. Usually an indication that the timing is spot on perfect...and/or it hasnt been cycled much at all. Im hoping its that the timing is perfect due to the well worn holster included with the gun.

Update to this thread, finally heard from SELLER, the gun will ship today but the holster isn't included, he said he sold it to someone else.

Yea, hard to see it any other way. The truth is it wasn't the holster which inclined me to buy the gun. It's an ok flap style holster but nothing special. As a consequence the Seller deducted an appropriate ammount from the total so I'm ok with it.

Kind of a ripoff..

Update#2- when I messaged the SELLEr for the track number he disclosed that he did not ship it today because he's very busy.
Looks like this one just wasn't meant to be.

If he made adjustments, then that's reasonable.

No, I found this one from an antique arms purveyor. This was the most unprofessional transaction I've ever been a party to; poor communication, changing the listing terms and a mystifying surly attitude that I still can't explain. I cannot recommend this Seller and hope none of you encounter him. For obvious reasons I've chosen not to make his name public ( THR might have a thought about that) but would be happy to share via pm if anyone is interested. This is the first time I've declined to buy a gun because the Seller was so terrible.

Gunbroker auction?

Not sure I understand. Did you cancel the purchase due to the seller failing to ship when he said he would?

When I called him the first time we had a pleasant conversation of some length where we agreed on a price and shipping date. When I called him 12hrs later he denied having ever spoken to me, and that the terms were non-negotiable. Imagine my surprise at hearing that.
His listing included a holster- he told me he sold the holster or something else vague, I could take the gun or leave it, holster or no.
Finally, we again agreed on a ship date. I called to get track info whereby he emailed, 'too busy, maybe next week'.
That was it for me.
All the while I had the feeling that he didn't really care if I bought it or not.

Not sure I understand. Did you cancel the purchase due to the seller failing to ship when he said he would?
