Do you remember your first handgun? What was it, when was it & where is it today?

Some of y'all had really nice first guns.

Mine was a bersa duo tone, 2005, a gift from my girlfriend for Christmas.

Got sold in 2012, bad financial times, had to move in with family etc.

Still have the girlfriend (now wife) though!

My first handgun was a Stainless Ruger Police Service Six in 357 Magnum. My dad bought it for me when I was 13 in 1980. My mom never liked guns and wasn’t very happy when I went shooting. My dad did HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration (I’m third generation 36 years experience) and had it stashed in his service van. We went out on a service call one night and he told me to look for a certain part on one of the shelves in the van. That’s when I discovered the Ruger box. I thought it was the greatest thing in the world! Today, after thousands of rounds it is retired and kept in the gunsafe. I bring it out every few years and relive my youth shooting that revolver. It’ll never leave my possession.

My ex girlfriend gave it away while it was in a Bank Bag ( all parts... dissassembled).
Gunsmith in neighboring town got it , refinished it & put it back in order.
He said the young girl never came back for it. Well... we broke up , she moved out and on the way , she dropped off my Grandfather's pistol to get fixed. 1st gun .... = Lost to a Lousy Broad.

My first handgun was a Junior Colt .25 that I bought in 1966. I still have it and still take it to the range periodically.

First rifle was 2017 when we bought our property, a 10/22. Turned out to be the perfect tool to defend my chickens and butcher pigs.

September of last year I got my First handguns(plural) they were gifted to me at the same time by my father. A 4” Springfield XD9 and a 6.5” ruger Blackhawk in 41 magnum. Turns out I’m a revolver guy so the Blackhawk sees 10x the use. Both great guns with no plans to ever get rid of.

Rossi 851. I needed a handgun like right now back in the 1980s and this one fit my budget. Actually bought it from Wal Mart. I was lusting after a Colt Officer's there, but it was more than I had in my wallet.

Very decent revolver. Later on I gave it to a friend and one of his sketchy girlfriends lifted it. Looked like this.

Around 1986, or 7 a T.C. Contender with a 10 inch barrel in 44 Rem. mag. $200.00 OTD, NIB.
Has the screw in choke so it has taken its share of roughed grouse over the years with those hand-loaded shot capsules. But ya gotta be fairly close for a kill....

Ruger Single Six Convertible, 1972 paid 79.00 for it and still own it today. I was fired so much it became out of time, cylinder wouldn't always lock up but would still fire. I called Ruger C S and they wanted it back for safety check. Got it back in about 3 weeks in perfect time, recut forcing cone and touched up bluing.. NO CHARGE to me !!!!!!!!!!!!! hdbiker

I bought a GP100 6” SS heavy lug 357Mag when I was 25, kept it 20 years, sold it to a guy in Wisconsin...

S&W .32 Regulation Police that belonged to my grandfather. I still have it.

My first handgun 25 years ago was a S&W Model 581 .357 carried it with me all over the US . Sorry to say I was very gun dumb back then and sold it to a pawn shop, Even more sorry few months after the pawn shop the guy I bought from had sobered up and wanted to buy it back still fell bad about it.

I got into the milsurp hobby before I got into handguns, so my first was a Model 1895 Nagant revolver (Izhevsk, 1944) I bought from AIM Surplus about ten years or so ago. It's still in my collection.

My first handgun was a H&R 676 with a 7 1/2” barrel. It got sold when upgrading to a Ruger Single Six. It was at a time when I couldn’t afford to to just go out buy a new gun when ever I wanted one. It was on the early side of the 1970’s that I believe.

NAA 22 Mag 5 shot revolver. Terrible gun! Glad they fixed that mess now. Was in MI when I bought it. Had to lay down a fingerprint and ask the Sherriff if he would allow me to have it. F that.

It's the difference between 23 and 55 years. Good luck with that crap now. I'm not asking an-ee-body for permission to buy or own a gun. Biden is demanding $200.00 for a tax stamp on so called "assault weapons". My weapons were lost this past weekend in a tragic boating accident in the Gulf of Mexico, but if I still had them, I'd be danged if I'd sign a piece of paper agreeing to me being allowed to own a firearm. And I sure a heck would not pay a dime in tax to smooth the road. NEVER.

Will not happen.

In 1962 I traded Riley’s Gun shop in Hoksett, NH for a Ruger Single Six convertible 6.5 “ revolver and a Hunter western style holster w belt that has changeable cartridge loops. That OM revolver is on my peg board wall and the holster and belt are in my metal cabinet. The set has traveled with me many miles.
