I don't remember exactly how I said it but in one of these arguments I said something to the effect that if I ever have to defend myself I don't want the bare minimum, I want more rounds than I will ever need. That hasn't changed.

Not an argument. I'm not advocating for more or less. Actually, I posted the poll in part to get a feel for how many people would be effected (regarding CC) if a magazine capacity limit law were to pass Congress. Not in the short term of course, due to mags very likely being grandfathered. More of a long term view.

If they grandfather the mags, its likely going to be many generations before theres any kind of impact. Who knows what might occur in between.

Weve had various mag restrictions in the past, and little or no effect because of it.

Personally, I dont see the point in self-limiting on capacity. The only person youre hurting in doing so, is yourself.

All of us.

You might want to take a look at some of the recent capacity restriction laws that have passed because a bunch of them do not have grandfather clauses in them

I carry a shield 9 because its Fl, and what most people consider "summer wear" we just call clothes, most of the time.

I keep hearing this but I lived in Florida (Pasco/Pinellas counties) for several years and I recall Hawaiian shirts and Guayaberas being pretty common. I also remember seeing it freeze at least a couple of times a winter. I remember watching The Challenger explosion from my front yard and I remember the reason I wasn't at work is because they sent us home because of the cold.

Having lived in a restricted state before the advent of the modern compacts with 10 or more rounds, I downsized from a G19 to a G26. If I were forced to do it over again, I would go with a G43 and G48, carry a mocked-up G43x most of the time, and the G43 as-needed. Also get the 48 slide cut for an RMR and turn it into a winter carry.

I specified MOST of the time. I lived in Tampa from birth in '67 to the military in '87, so I remember many of the weather anomalies you referenced . But in the here and now, its usually T shirt weather in most of Fl., MOST of the time, so I carry a compact and skinny shield 9 ALL of the time. And in NW Fl, Hawaiian and those other shirts aren't common at all.

I want to be really clear I'm not disputing your statement. I just don't remember Florida being THAT hot

Like a Radom P-64. 7 shots.
On the property, a revolver with a couple rounds of ratshot is preferable, and sometimes that
CC finds it's way into town.

Florida ain't Beirut... (at least not where I live)

My carry guns are single stacks with 10 round or less capacity. I've not found any double stack that is a good fit in my hand so I go with what works for me and gives me the accuracy and control I demand.

Most all of my carry guns are single stack "low capacity" (10 or less) pistols due to weight and size. A bit thicker is a much bigger defferenc than a bit taller or a bit longer to me. If I can carry a bigger gun I prefer to move up in caliber over moving up in capacity. I am a firm believer that if I pull out my carry gun I had DARNED well better make the first shot count!
