Do your revolvers get jealous of each other?

I don’t think I’ve ever carried the GP100’s . I’m a bigger guy (extra husky) and could probably get away with it (particularly in cold weather) but have other options that are lighter in .357 and .327FM. Specifically SP101’s that I shoot pretty well.

I have been known on occasion to carry a bird head new model Vaquero in .45 Colt. I also shoot those well.

BTW.... that’s some good looking gun leather right there. If I owned that Cobra rig I’d be inclined to open carry it to my mother in laws funeral...God willing I’ll live that long.

At this time the only revolvers I currently have leather for is the 625 and the model 13. I have a Mernickle paddle holster for the 625 but after trying it for a few days I don't care for it. I bought a bin of mixed gun leather at an auction. Going through it I discovered a Bianchi hurricane along with other duty gear so I put a sparce duty rig together for it. So my revolvers don't get carried yet. I have worn the sp101 a couple times in a Roger's ankle holster. I can see the Smiths being jealous of the Ruger. I'm pretty sure all of them are jealous of the Reeder's good looks.

They get jealous of the cheap lil charter workhorse! Any of this happen with you?

Not that I know of but then again they can be a little tight lipped about things like that.

Basically it comes down to which one is the lightest and most comfortable to carry and my S&W Model 638 seems to always win that contest hands down. Still my Model 649 gets the occasional work out too as it's got a slightly lighter and smoother trigger than it's aluminum frame cousin. Both were made for concealed carry and I like to use them with that in mind.

I always had a thing for S&W J frame snubbies, mostly Model 36s with the occasional Model 37 thrown in the mix. Then one day at a gun shop I spotted a Model 38, new in the box. It was nickel plated and it was love at first sight! Ever since then I have been attracted to this particular model and so that's why I have a Model 649 (I had just seen an article about it in a gun magazine and there it was at a local gun shop)! Same with the Model 638; it was on sale and I even took the one out of the display case as I checked it out and could see it was very solidly put together.

I have several carry guns. Depends on conditions which gets carried. I asked them about jealousy and none responded. They are steel. They have no soul or heart.

Not as long as I love them at the range.

I also carry my cheapest gun the most. Mostly because I am negligent of its condition in the field and Id feel bad about banging up or losing my more expensive pieces in a lake/river/ocean. That said, cheap doesn’t mean crappy, I trust my particular cheaper revolver just as much as my nicer ones, if I didn’t I wouldn’t own it anymore.

I have a passel of carry revolvers.. but the 856UL has stolen the show lately

My Bodyguard is semi-retired in favor of small automatics, but my engraved Centennial is my "You think you want a snubbie? Try this one." gun.

My SP101 2.25" 357 gets carried the most, the Dan Wessons get fondled the most, the Speed Sixes get to the range more, the GP100s and Model 10s are starting to feel neglected. Cold weather is here so the 4" GP will be getting out more now. BTW, my Simply rugged Sourdough Pancake with IWB straps make the 40 ounce GP surprisingly comfortable to carry hiking in the woods. I feel the weight OWB much more even with a good gun belt.

I can't tell for sure if my revolvers get jealous of each other, at least when I'm around. I haven't heard any fistfights after the safe door gets locked; I suppose there might be reasons enough, though. My Rossi and Taurus, being "furriners", tend to keep to themselves, but they don't see hardly any daylight like the S&W's do. The M19-3 may have a bit of inferiority complex, since it's smaller than the N-frames, and its, ahem....barrel..... is shorter than theirs, too. The M57 is the oldest and could be sort of curmudgeonly, the M28-2 feels very plain when around the rest of the guns. All of them have a complex with the M29-2, it has a nice presentation case to live in that they didn't get, and its nickel plating makes it stand out when amongst the rest of them. Makes them feel blue.

Jealous? Probably not. They each get a bit of love when I can provide it.

Mine are not jealous of each other, but they do seem to multiply behind the closed doors of the safe.

I have an S&W 442 and 642 that share carry/bedside duties with a H&K P30SK.

Revolvers and Ms. Katz get along fine, thank you.

I know that my polished, well balanced, and completely HEAVY 686+ probably wonders why I pick my Charter Undercover DAO over it foe carry.

It's simple. Im a big weight baby. I prefer lightweight guns to heavy ones. I adore my 686. If I had to pick only one handgun, it would be the winner. However, 40ish oz to 16ish? Drop that little CA in my pocket and bop out the door. It gets bumped and dusty and mostly just kind of forgotten about until I think about it. It goes bang every time and is the first snub nose .38 that I shoot well. My guess is that it hits the sweet spot of being heavier than 13 oz but no so heavy that it is a burden to pack around.

As a matter of fact, once I get done with my 10-14 day Covid19 Staycation, I plan on looking into the Boxer variation my LGS has on hand. Six shooter .38 snubbie with two tone finish? Yes please.

My revolvers are inanimate objects that are incapable of having any feelings whatsoever.

A little anthropomorphism is a good thing from time to time. Since my revolver is an only child that has never been a problem.
