Brand comparison?

That’s a tough question to answer because preferences and other subjective things come into play. I would say, gut feeling, favorably.

Thanks guys. Asking because I have ordered a complete upper from LaRue, 6.5 Grendel 18" on August 4th. If I saw something comparable from Wilson, in stock, I may consider a switch. Thanks again.

I decided to cancel the LaRue complete upper, 6.5 Grendel. I ordered a Wilson Combat 20" 6.5 Creedmoor match grade stainless barrel and a bolt carrier group. I have never built an AR so I have a lot of searching to do. If any of you have any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them. Wilson Combat does not have any hand guards in stock. Also not sure which gas block & tube I need.

I would not give up a Larue for a Wilson. I’ve owned both and I give the edge to the Larue. Wilson components are great, but I’ve found their assembly (in ARs) to be lacking with several I’ve used having more play between the upper and lower than I would expect for the price point. The two Larue’s I have owned were both very accurate, well-built rifles.

Just keep in mind you’ve just moved from the AR-15 size platform to the AR-10. Not sure off the top of my head what pattern Wilson uses for their large frame ARs.
The specs on the Barrel should tell you what size and length has black and gas tube you’ll need. (.750”, .920” etc)(rifle length most likely).

As was said you changed platforms going up to 6.5 Creedmoor, hope that was intentional because an AR10 does not handle like an AR15; in regards to the size and weight difference.

Thanks. I did not realize the change from AR15 to AR10 until after I made the switch. I guess I was a little too anxious and made a rooky mistake. I may end up with one of each before it's all done. Guess I will focus on the AR-10 to start with.

Wilson doesn't have any AR10 Lowers in stock. What other comparable brands should I look at? Wilson recommended using only their lowers since AR10s are not mill spec. Agree?
