I was looking for some 380 for my wife's ppk and Cheaper than dirt has them for 200 bucks for 100 rounds of Winchester white box. that is crazy money. I don't know if that is the going rate or if CTD is gouging. since I can not find it anywhere it may be the going rate. Anyone know?

If you're looking for reasonably priced ammo don't go with CTD. Ammoseek.com has plenty of stuff showing around $.80.

A) Possibly wait for the results from PA, WI, MI, unless the overall results go to the Supreme Court. The net results will have a serious influence on the price of some ammo.

B) You might want to buy it now, or wait months - in case of a "very possible, different situation" - for prices to Return back towards today's prices?

CTD is a "911" service for those who were not Able to (financially, young, or overseas), or Chose not to plan ahead for the sudden, (always unknown in advance) panics.

I ordered 1000 bullets from MBC. I will just reload. I know they are a bit behind but I have 500 from my last order. I do need to find a box of defense ammo for her. I have her loaded with some older Silver tip Win.

Lots of crazy ammo price stories lately. Everyone who likes to shoot regularly will eventually learn this lesson: buy when it's cheap, not when it's rare.

One of the reasons I have opted to shelve my BG380 for the time being is that I am too low on .380 to feel comfortable carrying it. I have a lot more .38 special on hand, so im going that direction for the time being.

I loaded up on ammo during the cheap runs of it over the years. I have over 1000 rounds of 380. But its mostly FMJ. I don't use 380 for defense. But my wife hated the Ruger LCR. She did not enjoy shooting it and loved my PPK. So she picked on up and now its her defense gun. I have some defense 380 but its in a ammo box somewhere. I have 150k rounds of ammo in ammo boxes and its not all sorted well. I thought I would pick up a 380 box of defense ammo but that is not as easy as it seems now. I also load and have quite a bit of primers, powder and bullets. I also collect brass every time I go to the range. I come home with much more than I went with. I clean and sort and put it in containers. To me brass is a commodity.

$200 for 2 boxes of any common handgun ammo seems excessive, but that's Treats You Like Dirt. Always ready to take advantage when the opportunity arises..

I will gladly undercut their prices and sell 2 boxes for only $190. LOL (Kidding of course, I don't gouge. Sold a friend 100 rounds of brass .308 for $60 last night, because that's about what I paid for them.)

I have a place locally that has bandoliers of 3006 in M1 garand stripper clips for 45 bucks for two bandoliers. I bought two should by more. They are Korean 82 manufacture.

Thats pretty much Cheaper than Dirt's business model. Even then that sounds extreme. A buddy bought his Wife a 380 right at the beginning of the panic and he calls around a couple time a week looking for some. Occasionally he finds some. They always have a limit, usually a box and its been running $12-$15 a box.

With a .22LR handgun, in a certain sense, shooting at steel targets seems just as fun as with my five 9mm handguns.
Stored plenty of 9mm ammo the last two years, and with my .22, I very seldom touch Any 9mm guns--

--except to admire their quality, and appreciate having former federal & police types: Czech, German and US.

I would not pay that.

Happened on some pmc 380 at 15 per 50.

I'm no math win, but that's like... 30/100 before tax.

I don’t know about purchasing 100 rounds from CTD however, at those prices I’ll take 100 shares of their publicly traded stock!

Look mama....another Cheaper Than Dirt thread!
Really? Do we need another of these OMG look at that price threads? :cuss:

First, if you don't like the price.....move on. Don't buy it. CTD doesn't make a single penny of profit if no one buys their $200 box of ammunition. That'll show 'em.;) It's really that simple. I think some of ya'll really believe that Cheaper Than Dirt is selling pallets of ammo at such prices. Likely they sell NONE. In which case why be angry or upset? And they've been showing those prices for oh, THE LAST TWELVE YEARS!!!! So no one should be surprised about their pricing either.

Second, they aren't gouging. Its their property and they can price it as high as they like. No one is forcing you to buy and they aren't selling the last cup of ice water in the Sahara. You might think the price unreasonably high, but remember....it's not your property. You want price fixing? Move. Move to Venezuela. Move to someplace where the government sets the price for goods and services. Then write back and tell us all about the cheap ammunition, food and toilet paper on store shelves.

Thirdly, Cheaper Than Dirt serves a valuable purpose (beyond starting a thread every four days). It's where the unprepared shop. We've had plentiful, cheap ammunition in every caliber for six years now. If you didn't load up you made a big mistake. If you were unaware that ammo and gun panics occur every four years you sure as heck know now. Those that knew and didn't prepare? I have little sympathy. Yeah, its painful to pay $2 per round for ammunition that normally runs twenty five cents a round. But sometimes life is an expensive lesson.

That's a valid point. The buyer is free to shop elsewhere. And if they choose not to shop around, they're also free to not buy at all.

Still .... taking advantage of the ignorant, lazy or panicked buyers by nicking them for as much as they can is still kind of sleazy, IMO. Something you'd expect from a traveling carnival show skipping town tomorrow, not from an established online business.
