CLASSIC has surplus Beretta 76 full size .22 target pistols.
Worth a look , I think.

I love the Beretta 76, and would suggest it to anyone as a target pistol. They do have an aluminum alloy frame, but if that isn't a dealbreaker, this is a good opportunity.

The Beretta 76 is at the most an entry level target pistol and the grips are not very large.

Back to the P210 rimfire conversions, they are not in the same class as the 7,65 or 9mm pistols but if the OP wants a really nice IG Hammerli in .22 l.r., the P240 would fill that bill - and it is a huge gun. Pictured is a P240 in .32 S&W Long, I don't own but shot the .22 conversion and it's a top gun in all calibres.

I think I'm in the correct thread now.

Full size steel .22 LR pistol,,,
Look no further than a CZ-75B Kadet.

SA/DA with external hammer,,,
But no de-cocker.

Not the CZ-75B with the conversion kit,,,
But the actual Kadet pistol.

They are a little difficult to find now,,,
But well worth the time and effort when you do.

Mine is a superb shooter,,,
Eats every type of ammo I have fed her.

I have a CZ 75 and like it very much. I have thought very seriously about getting a Kadet for it. I bet it is a very neat set up.

My All-Time Favorite .22 Target Pistol is the Ruger Mk.II Model 512 with a 5 1/2" bull barrel. Nice trigger out of the box, great sights, very reliable and accuracy to match, and just the right feeling in terms of balance and handling.

My All-Time Favorite .22 Plinker Pistol is the Beretta Model 70S with all steel construction, great single action trigger, reliable with every brand and type of .22 that I have put through it, decent enough accuracy, and just flat out fun to shoot.

My All-Time Favorite Hybrid .22 Pistol is the SIG/Hammerli Trailside that looks like a plinker with fixed sights but shoots like a target pistol with it's extremely light and clean single action trigger.

I have a Kadet .22 conversion kit for my CZ P01 and it works perfectly. Very easy to install it did take a little bit of file work on the Kadet slide and P01 frame contact points to get it working smoothly. I also have a Kadet .22 conversion for my CZ P07 but I haven't had a chance yet to get it up and running.

Tough to beat the Ruger Mk pistols. I have an old Colt Woodsman that is my favorite 22 pistol. Well within your price range, and you could get a Ruger as well.

I owned a CZ 75 for 10years with the Kadet kit. I probably shot more than 100 thousand rds through the kadet. Only replaced the kadet firing pin & spring, extractor & spring and recoil spring twice in 10 years. (all were very easy to replace and very inexpensive) Original mags, never a problem. Barrel and rest of the adapter showed no wear at all. The kit will outlive you and your kids. It also made for a very formattable 22 rimfire firearm. Accurate and dependable and not very ammo picky at all.

S&W and Ruger have full size revolvers in 22 LR that hold 10 shots. I am sure you could find a grip to match your hands.

Uberti makes a 22 LR Single Action revolver with a 12 shot cylinder.

You may want to check out the Rock Island Armory (Armscor) XT-22. Here's a video: It is a steel 1922 with some unique features. I do not own one, but it is on my radar.

I had read in several places that a tiny bit of file work was needed,,,
To successfully mount the Kadet Kit to the 9mm frame,,,
I have no faith that I could have done that.

Fortunately when I bought my Kadet,,,
They were still selling the complete Kadet pistol.

I bought the Kadet and the 9mm as a matching pair,,,

I couldn't have been happier with that purchase.

Ruger MKII whatever version floats your boat, with custom wood grips to fill your hand with. The grip is longer than a lot of other guns, so it’s a favorite of mine.

S&W 41 is a grail gun for me. Someday.

Beretta 92 with a .22 conversion kit is a nice option, too, but the frame is aluminum.

I really like my S&W 18, but that’s a Kframe revolver. All steel, though.

Ruger MKII is a good accurate gun for the money. I have the MKII Competition Target as pictured in post #38 above and have been very satisfied with the gun. I use it for indoor bullseye shooting and plan on keeping it.

hey guys thanks for all your replies.

a few days ago i had the opportunity to try some different 22lr's and i think i found the perfect one for me.
its not steel but aluminium, a hardly used pardini sp22.
i looks extremely weird but i can only say WOW! that thing is amazing to shoot.
i fired off 50 rounds of federal champion ammo, nothing special, but the results were amazing, way better than what i get with the high standard.
trigger reset is nice and crisp.
although the grip is made for one handed shooting it still worked fine with 2 hands.
also much lighter than the high standard and the huge rear sight gives a better sight picture
only dislike is it doesnt automatically hold the slide open after the last round but i'll get used to that, and i'll have to extend the mag release a little bit to make it more comfortable to use.
it uses a push button on the underside of the "barrel" to hold the slide open which is easy to use.
thanks for all the help, it is highly appreciated and nice to see so many people chimed in with suggestions and info.

I bought one several years ago and put it on a CZ 75D compact. The accuracy is amazing. I pitted it against my Ruger MKII 6 7/8" and it's so close in accuracy I can't pick one over the other. It took a couple light swipes with a file to fit it (on the slide, not on the frame) and that was that. Added nice factor is it fit's in any holster that works for a CZ75. It's a great trainer for anyone using the CZ 75 series. The down side is these Kadet Kit's aren't cheap. It's been awhile but I think $400.00 plus..

Thanks for letting us know your final decision. The Pardini SP22 is an excellent choice

...and that provides an excellent opportunity to end the thread
