A 56" waist buddy was over and I was stumped looking for a good carry belt for him that wouldn't break the bank. We could find all the way up to 54", but nada above that.

Any of you big guys have any recommendations on a good source for gun belts for big guys?

Get two 30 inch belts? If they are identical, you can hook them together. Of course, you wind up with a buckle in the small of your back.

Man, I felt bad because I went into a Land's End store to look for wool trousers, and they don't sell any trousers above a 40 inch waist. (They also didn't have any wool ones - catalog only.) I'm 42 inch. Made me feel like a whale. 56 must be rough for a lot of things.

Searching through my usual suspects, nearly everything I'm finding goes up to the 60" - 70" range, I could keep listing them, but it would probably be easier for me if you could clarify what "won't break the bank" means to your friend.

I consider a typical gun belt to fall into the $80 - $100 range. How much is your buddy looking to spend.

Custom made shoulder rig. It will not be cheap but it will solve the problem.

I believe there are several Amish folks in your part of the world. Reasonable with price and excellent craftsman. Think there are some in Giles County.

What is breaking the bank? Just helps to have an idea of price range before we start patterning out suggestions.

Hanks Belts. They go up to 60 inches. I wear them myself.

Having said that, there are problems with getting an IWB holster to really work right when you are pear-shaped, unless you wear the belt very high on the body. I'm trying to solve the problem myself, and am convinced that the right answer is something nobody makes right now...a strong side, butt to the rear, shoulder holster.

$50-75 range, but I'm willing to make it a present and go up to $100.
I don't know where you were looking before regarding sizing, but pretty much everybody that makes a gun belt makes a gun belt up to 56".

High Noon goes up to 80" https://www.highnoonholsters.com/gun-holster-belts/rock-steady

Tucker goes up to 64" https://tuckergunleather.com/gun-belts/

Lobo up to 60" https://lobogunleather.com/b-10-belt/

Be careful... a size 56 belt from Wally World isn't necessarily 56" buckle to middle hole on the other end. Might be smart to read up on how to measure for a belt, and/or read up exact measuring instructions from the chosen maker.

I once made this mistake and the belt I got was 3" too short. My freeloader brother in law really liked that belt. Don't be like me. ;)

I assume from the convo you are interested in a leather belt... but there are some nice rigger's belts out there from nylon with a cobra buckle.

Big Ugly Leatherworks makes some excellent heavy duty gun belts and holsters. I have a double thick belt and a custom holster that I have been very satisfied with. Reasonable prices and sizes up to 66 inches. https://biguglyleatherworks.com/

His name is Big Ugly because he is a Big guy. Would probably be more than glad to work with you on getting a good setup.

Ever consider a "Belly Band" U can do inside, outside, cross draw, FBI carry, hip carry, shoulder carry and arm pit carry. I like it cause I don't need a different holster for every change of clothing or season. AND they are very inexpensive.

Wilderness Tactical will size way up. Waaaaaay up.

The size chart lists up to "15X", 96" to 101".

Naw, Not all Amish are farmers many are craftspeople who excell on wood and leather crafting. Got the county wrong though, it’s Lawerence County.
