Gear Creep......That also has a lot to do with wives.......some have wives where gear can explode, not have to creep. Usually those are the ones who share the hobby, or have expensive ones themselves. It pays to keep her happy.....she wouldn't be too happy about you coming home with a half shirt either.....

We have the same work bench. Keeps me honest on what I "think" I need

I bought my first press from a neighbor when I was 12, it’s been a long time since it was used and the hoppers went the way of the dodo years ago but I do still have the press.



I would C clamp the board to my Fathers workbench to load and put it away when I was done.

Once I had my own home I used an old desk and drywall screws to move different presses around on it.



Last time we moved I got the office room and built a bit larger bench and drilled and tapped it so I could take 3/8” thick steel bar stock and make different mounting plates for various presses, so I could easily move things around without things not being ridged or having a top that looked like Swiss cheese.



Not as nice as it would be to have more room but better than how I had it as a kid.

Gear creep is a physical law of nature. You can get rid of stuff, but gear creep will will sneak back in and you will be back to where you started before you realize it.

I used to think I was well-equipped. Now I am just jealous of some of you guys.

I don't have the woes most of you do. I am happy with my most vaunted press and the space I have. Getting a bigger area would be easy for me but not smart, I already procrastinate enough with my shooting, and fishing and reloading, If I had some of you guys setup I would have to hire a handyman to do my chores around the house.

I don't even want to think about it.....but yeah, I'm always looking for more efficient storage these days. It's either that or ask the missus to move into an upstairs bedroom.

Gear creep? Yeah, I’d say so.

No doubt. To any one who knows me I'm a fanatic. Too many guns. Too much gun stuff....

On here I'm a guy with a couple guns. Lol

I started with a partner kit on a shelf/ stand made for an early 80s RCA turntable/ cassette/ 8 track system. The shelf was entirely too floppy for sizing but I had to keep it mobile and small. I was Still in high school at my parents house. I actually used it 10 or so years while I lived in a temporary trailer while building my actual house but mostly for straight wall. It was fine for that. Now I have three single stage and a progressive. Plus a lee load master or two. (I call them semi- progressive.... or advanced turret. Or maybe turret+p+ ....Lol) 40 feet or so of table.

Not very neat most times though. Cluttered with gun parts. Chainsaw parts. Mower parts. Etc

I don't call it gear creep. I call it a Tool Collector. I collect tools of all kinds, depending on what I'm working on. Supplies are just supplies, go to find a place to store them.

Stuff will expand to fill all available space, then just a bit more to make things interesting

I suffered from "gear creep" for a while, then I just built a bigger bench.





Then I took my old bench and turned it into a de-capping and cleaning station.



My problem is solved.....for now.

Some of you guys have awesome setups, mine is pretty space limited since my other hobbies are Mustangs and guitars. It hasnt changed a whole lot in the past 9 years, the bench is pretty much the same. I definitely have more tools, a case trimmer station, and reload for a few more calibers. I hope to build a bigger shop in the next couple of years so I can have a dedicated reloading room. But at least for now my workshop/shed is climate controlled haha
