Tanfoglio Witness?

great gun. I have a standard steel frame one in 10mm. biggest issue i found was finding holsters and magazines that hold slide open. finding mags easy but there is weirdness with different followers. they work and feed but slide hold open was a battle of changing followers for me. maybe they've sorted through this finally.

I have a Witness Elite Match in .40. I added a few parts but have to say out of the box it had the best SA trigger of any guns I've owned including 2011 STI's.
The Witness hunter in 10mm would be a great choice. it's SA as well.

Besides being a great shooter, it feels just so right.

Witness Match 10 mm

I really like the ergonomics on the CZ-75 line a lot, which is why these are interesting. Somewhat subjective, of course, but they just fit the hand so naturally. (Parenthetically, I do enjoy my suppressed/SBRed vz61 as it is just pure fun. But I digress.)

If you've waited this long I have to ask..Do you really even want one?

What an ever so bizarre question.

I've owned and still own a bunch of Tanfoglio made guns, no issues at all. I did buy one basket case that had been put together in some sort of gone wrong "upgrade" and I had to order a few parts from EAA. Now in the past, whoever it was that always answered the phone was just plain nasty to deal with, but starting about 10 years or so ago, the people I talked to, once to order parts and once with a question about a gun they were supposed to be importing, were both very pleasant.
Some of the ones I have:
The "Mossad" is probably my favorite pistol of all I own: Slide fit is about as good as I've ever seen, feels like glass. DA trigger is still a little heavy, but SA is just about perfect.

The "Combat Cohai" in my avatar:

And the compact "Mossad"

I have a couple more, plus a couple of IMI/IWI Jerichos, and a Witness .45, and some other CZ pattern guns. Obviously, I like them a lot..

They were helpful to me in ordering my .40 S&W conversions and extra magazines. No complaints.
Of course they are helpful when taking more of your money.

I've had bad customer service on a cracked slide 10mm.

I do recall they had good on-line parts ordering so if you can do-it-yourself you can keep them running.

A couple of years ago I bought a polymer Witness Compact in 10mm to use as a woods gun. I couldn't load more than 6-7 rounds in the magazines without the followers getting stuck and not wanting to move. After numerous attempts I reached their customer service and was told there couldn't be a problem with the magazines and they refused to do anything to correct the situation. After unsuccessfully trying numerous things to correct the issue myself and with a local gun smith I sold the gun with full disclosure of the problem at a loss. It was a shame as based on the rounds I was able to shoot through it, it was accurate and a great shooter.

I went ahead and acquired one. Added a couple 19-rounds magazines and a good light. Shot it up a bunch on the home range. So far, so good. Zero malfunctions, accurate enough to make the steel plates dance, and 20 shots of 10mm on tap is a thing of beauty.

I've been had my Witness 10mm for the past 6-7 years. Great pistol! I find it much more pleasant to shoot than my Glock 20SF. It is accurate and dependable.

I have two 10mm Witnesses—one Elite that I bought new and one DA/SA I bought used at Cabellas. Had some trouble with the used one and EAA replaced the slide for free in two weeks, I paid $20 return shipping. Cost me $80 to ship it to them because I didn’t think to have my LGS do it. This was in 2015 so well past the time some people mentioned as the inflection point in their customer service.

I love both guns but wish the DA/SA had a decocker because I don’t like lowering the hammer by hand on a live round. Oddly, they have a decocking model in Europe but EAA apparently never imported them. Or so it appeared when I looked into it. The Elite has a really sweet single-action-only trigger. I have probably only put 1000 rounds through them total because I don’t reload and I am not made of money, but so far so good...
