We became gun owners earlier this summer. Never fired a gun previously. We have several long guns now, but have been hesitant to get a handgun due to having smaller children at home (8 and 10).

We’ll keep the Sig in mind. We still have to do more research and complete our paperwork for our CPLs.

MUST have a safe. I'd rec a single key one VS a push button one. Son had one, battery died, he couldn't find the B/U key.

I get grand daughter sleep overs(7 and 9YO), and when they are here. Guns go into safe..

Sounds good, but I keep my Glock17, even in safe, magazine in but not 'cocked'..easy to open and find gun in the dark but maybe not finding the magazine. IMHO..YMMV and all that.

P365 replaced my Kahr PM9 as my EDC.

It is in my pocket right now, in an Alabama Pocket Holster. I highly recommend both the pistol and the holster.

Love my p365 SAS. The sights do get some getting used to. Mainly I found I had a sight picture before I expected it. They are quick to get a sight picture on but you will lose some accuracy. My groups opened up from 3" to about 6" at 10 yds but I found I was maybe 2x as quick on the first shot once I got used to them.

I watched all of these videos before I got one, there are similar complaints from TFB and the other internet 'experts'.

IMHO they are doing it wrong. The way to use the SAS is a refined version of point shooting. I don't try to aim exactly with the sights but just use them to verify that I am on target. The aim is mainly instinctual. Hence the opening up of the groups but they are still perfectly acceptable for SD purposes.

Full disclosure, 6 of my 8 P22x Sigs have been replaced by SIg p365's. I have the standard p365 with and w/o safety, the SAS and the P365XL with normal sights and with optics. They each have a slightly different purpose.

My EDC has become the p365XL OWB with or without optics (both concealed and open carry). I am worried about the Sig Romeo battery life since it really has no easy on/off so I schizophrenically carry the p365XL with or without the optic.

The p365 SAS is great for the hook and loop holsters since the sights will not snag. I also use the p365 SAS in my belly band when I wear sweats or shorts. The Belly band can also carry the p365 standard with safety.

The standard p365's are for IWB and pocket carry.

All of the p365's except for the SAS and the manual safety carry Streamlight TLR-6 lights. I have kydex pocket holsters for the standard ones for carrying both with and without the lights. The pocket holsters can also carry the p365 SAS.

In this manner I feel I have all of my bases covered with the same manual of arms.

Any, btw zero failures to this point, 1000's of rds.

Dang, and I thought I'd jumped onboard the P-365 bandwagon. SharpDog is all in!

And while I love the original 365 itself (have two), I'm finding the 365XL just may become my favorite concealed carry pistol of all time. It's simply the size, weight, the fact that it fits me like a glove and has such a great trigger. I've been on the fence about striker-fired pistols for a few years, but maybe this old dog can learn new tricks ...

Typical of most P365 SAS guns and completely unacceptable. "But it's not for long-range shooting; it's a CQB combat pistol for 99% of all defensive situations" cry the SAS apologists... The one in the video was off by 10" at 8 yards. He was aiming dead-center on the vitals and hitting the left shoulder. No thank you. I would never own a pistol useless beyond 7 yards.

Yeah, because we should always take as gospel one "internet media personality's" opinion on a product. This is not a comment one way or another on the accuracy of the 365 SAS, rather a comment on that particular individual.

If your main goal is to sell advertising and rake in internet hits on your website by constantly trying to make controversial comments about every product you review (or, conversely, shamelessly sucking up to certain manufacturers), you have no credibility with me. Even the few minutes of my life I've wasted trying watch Harmsen's videos make me regret that I won't get them back ...

I had trouble early on not going fully in battery intermittently but cleared out after 200 rounds. For me it's too heavy for pocket carry. It stays in my safe, Glock 19 serves my purposes for belt holster carry.

Trey, Trey, Trey -- a few posts on a couple internet forums, and a handful of "reviews" by social media gun video dudes doesn't seem "well-known" to me. What I get out of the YouTubers is that they have trouble adjusting to the style of sights, and/or that the sights are not regulated; nothing about the inherent accuracy of the actual pistol (which would seem to be best demonstrated by group size out of a rest).

Nonetheless, the OP was about the conventional P-365, not the SAS.

Took it to the range today and put about 125-150 rounds through it. No issues, shot great, etc. I just practiced from 7-10 yards as that’s where I’d be shooting it in real life if anything ever happened. I was on target with all my shots snd with more practice got more into the center.

I still really like the P365 and may get one one day. But for now the Ruger should suit me just fine.

Still working on getting my CPL. Went down to the courthouse the other day but everything was shutdown due to the lockdown. Hopefully later this month my wife and I can submit everything and get the ball rolling on that.

My dad is retired FBI and Chief of Police and the EC9S is what he carries. After shooting my P365, he is wanting replace his Ruger with one, but is in no hurry. The Ruger is a great little gun. I shot his at our cabin range a couple of years ago and compared it to my XDS 40 and my Taurus G2c. The Ruger had the best trigger and felt the best, but the other two were a bit more accurate. None of them malfunctioned and all shot to point of aim. Hard to pick a truly awful gun these days; unless it's the P365 SAS...

Good shootin' there, Amigo.

The 365 carries well in a pocket but doesn’t draw as fast as some smaller autos. I recommend a good Kydex pocket holster to protect the trigger. I prefer the Alabama pocket holster.

Looking at options for my wife and I for our first handguns. Looking for something we can conceal carry in our pocket once we get our CPL. We took the course, just need to do the rest at the city clerk office now.

I also looked at the Ruger EC9 and LC9. I shot a Glock 17 at the CPL course and liked it, but seems too large to carry in my pocket.

I LOVE this gun. A top choice for sure. I'd probably buy it WITH the manual safe - many others would disagree. I do prefer pocket carry and it is small enough for MOST pockets, but not all.

All of my ammo is currently stockpiled in other than 9mm so I do NOT currently own one. If I had to replace my G-42 I would put the 365 at the TOP of my list.

Just so you know, I have frequently shot this model and it is a favorite with my shooting buddies. SIG is a TOP brand.

My P365SAS is my exclusive EDC these days either in a pocket or Vedder Light Tuck. Mounted the Sig laser for a little piece of mind but I don't have sighting issues. Its not a target pistol, it an oh @^!% pistol.

I have the SAS--the sights on the "standard" P365 are excellent. Nice shooting BTW

Since you own a G42.. I own a G42 and have owned 2 small 9mm(Glock 43 and Ruger LC-9S), have shot a 365 and found them all really 'snappy'..to the point of not really wanting to shoot them much at all. Which, for me, is a show stopper. If it ain't FTS(FunToShoot), I don't want it.
Replaced the G43 with a G48 and couldn't be happier and yes..G48 ain't no 'pocket' gun unless you are Mr GreenJeans...

But if you have shot it and like it...

My standard P365 has taken over CCW duties 90% of the time. I even sometimes carry AIWB. The key to any IWB carry regardless of pistol is: 1) Inspect he holster to make sure there are no obstructions, and 2) holster the pistol before stuffing it in your pants. I've hiked, jogged, bicycled and even fallen on my keester while carrying the P365 AIWB without incident. I never had any striker fired gun go off under any circumstance without my finger on the trigger.

I am still most used to classic SIG DA/SA, and when the situation allows I carry my M11-A1, but the P365 is getting more duty time due to it's superior concealability. It is also the easiest pistol to shoot accurately one-handed that I've found yet.
