Shipping ammo to California

The recipient, certainly.

The shipper, possibly. Especially if the AG or local DA wants some gun-control press to kick off the new year, they’ll issue a warrant for arrest and possibly mess up the future for the shipper.

No reason to take the risk on the sellers/shippers end. Send it to a receiving FFL and let the recipient deal with the $1 fee and paperwork through the FFL.

I bought two cases of 28 ga shells, the seller sent it to my regular FFL, a piece of cake.

Stay safe.

I bought two cases of 12 ga shell, UPS delivered to my door step. I carried them into my house. Now that is a true piece of cake. Glad I live in Ohio. Sorry bout your situation Riomouse911, but what you must do to get ammo is no piece of cake.

It used to be that way, and if I could waive a magic wand and make it go back to a State that is run intelligently I would.

But I can’t, so I follow the rules that I am unable change by myself. Maybe someday sanity will again reign amongst the electeds in Sacramento, but (sadly) I’ll bet that pressure to make laws just like these will come down from the major Ohio cities onto Columbus and will affect your gun rights before they’ll vote in Sacto to overturn them back here.

If only we could get a Supreme Court case to smack these things down... but I won’t bet on that happening either.

Stay safe.

I am reading a lot of fatalistic attitude in here. Tsk tsk tsk. Fatalism -as a personal philosophy- puts a normally free mind into a coma.

" If only the people in Sacramento would do things different...but they won't so I'll just live with it; I guess it was meant to be..."

That is Fatalism. And Fatalism turns good people into, well, zombies, really - not dead but not really living either.

Sunshine and Snackie-Cakes doesn’t change agendas. It’s easy for an outsider to California to make statements like this but 60 years of getting kicked in the groin by “The Man” tends to take a toll. Trying hard to not go full-tilt-boogie political here...

Regarding shipping ammo to CA, it’s completely legal to ship to the FFL of the buyer’s choice. As long as the buyer owns registered guns and can pass the quickie background check they are good to go. The guns do not need to match the ammo - I other words, if I own a gun of any cartridge configuration I can buy any ammunition, even though it may not work in my gun. Well, any ammunition that isn’t .50 Cal or larger.
