It's my understanding mine is an older one; you are correct, they have changed the newer ones... consensus is they are not as good as the older ones. I wasn't aware Vltor made those, I'll have to look at what they have... I need 3 more.

Never got to use the SD for its intended purpose (suppressed) as I sold the pistol to an eager buyer. The theory appears sound, port gas to the sides and allow the built in baffles to block rearward air flow. As configured it worked as well as a standard Raptor.

Wish I could have pulled it before the sale and exchanged for the standard Raptor but wasn’t on the ball.

Yeah, the new BCM version I have is a medium. Feels more like a small. If I was to buy again I would go with a large latch.
