9mm, 45 ACP, and 22 LR as a trainer. 4O S&W? Don't really like it, but it seems to be here to stay. So I have 1.

By what I shot the most this past year?

9mm
38Spl Not semi auto though.
45Acp
380Acp
22Lr

You could throw in a handful of 357Mags and 44Mags but I didn't shoot that many of them.

WB

1. 10mm (in an ideal world)
2. 357 Sig (great cartridge)
3. 40 S&W (it's not an ideal world)
4. 9mm (pistol choices)
5. .22lr (I shoot this the most)

1 = 10mm - great overall performance
2 = 357 SIG - as close to the 10mm as a small frame will allow
3 = 45 ACP - it works well
4 = 40 S&W - as close to the 45 ACP as a small frame will allow
5 = 9mm - great for targets and 147 gr has proven to be effective

Honorable mention = .177 BB CO2 gun - I have a few Umarex pistols. They are fun to shoot.

Top two choices for me are 9mm and 40 S&W. Honorable mention to the 10mm.

I have some small interest in 357 SIG and may by one in the future.

.45 acp taking care of business for over 100 years. Easy to load and easy to shoot. Recoil? Not in this camp. Follow up shots no problem when you learn the process.

Depends on gun really. A 9mm in a gun that sux to shoot, does that mean 9mm is 'not' a favorite cartridge? And a great gun, great fun to shoot, in 9mm, then it becomes a favorite?
I really like my 9mm HGs and my 380 HG....so I guess those are my 'favorites'.:)

Cartridge is different than caliber..and Semi-auto precludes a few of my favorite.

.32 ACP; good for CC, limited platforms, small game gathering with inserts, quiet for what it is worth. Most capacity/for size

9x19; better for CC, more platform options, effective on various medium game with inserts/carbines, little more noise.

10MM; more power for CC, effective on medium-larger game in handgun/carbine, lot more noise but what a THUMP.

If I was stuck saying which is my favorite I would say 10MM, just because it is so fun and it is great for woods or concrete jungle.

As i said in my Post #10, 38/45 Clerke, 45 ACP, and 38 Super are my top three favorite semi-auto cartridges to shoot.

But I also load and shoot 40 S&W, 10mm, 357 SIG, 9x19, 380 ACP, 32 ACP, 25 ACP, 22 LR, and 22 Short. (Well, I do not load 22 LR or 22 Short).

So, really, what I'm shooting at the moment is my favorite.

I like shooting 1911's and I have them chambered in 45 ACP, 40 S&W, 357 SIG, 9X19, 38/45 Clerke, 38 Super, and 22 LR.

My 10mm gun is a revolver (S&W 610) but a semi-auto 10mm is probably in my future.

9mm is growing on me, and I've bought the most pistols in that loading lately.

However, I still have a soft spot for the 9x33mmR. And yes, I have a semiautomatic pistol in that cartridge.
