Which handgun "PURCHASED NEW" was the best value for the money

BNIB Sig P229 Classic Carry 9mm, with all the stuff Sig sends with it, out the door, $499. Trying to be fair, I asked the dealer if it was miss marked. Nope, and he threw in a box of ammo and 1 hour range time.
 
My Ruger Single-Six convertible. Purchased in 1979 for $152. Still have it - and the receipt.
It's been carried often and shot much!
I have used it mainly for plinking but in its early years it was pressed into home/camp defense with the .22 WMR cylinder installed.

I need to update this...

I’ve now added a brand-new Ruger factory 5.5” bull barreled upper for $36.00 (plus a $60.00 bolt) to the Mk IV that absolutely doubles its usefulness... so the Mk IV is now a 10” target monster, or a 5.5” packable pistol, with a ten-second swap. :thumbup:

Ruger LCRx 3"; purchased 2 years ago brand new. It was $400 OTD; it's reliable and accurate and I have no complaints. I have shot it often and it is easy to carry. The wife's Glock 42 was $480 OTD when I lived in South Dakota (Scheel's in Sioux Falls); great value as well.
 
I picked up a Springfield Armory XDm .40 4.5” off Grabagun for 339.00 when they were closing them out, it’s magnificent.

Value for dollar nothing else is even close. At 550.00 these guns blow the competition away for value IMO, they should have kept the 4.5” .40 in the lineup.

This is like asking is you like blondes, brunettes, or red heads....

The current love of my life is a Glock 42. Pocket carry, 10 round mags available, reliable, accurate, and with modern .380 ammo it is up for the job.
 
S&W Model 41. Started out in Bullseye competition (NRA conventional pistol) as unclassified & all the way to the top of NRA expert. Put many many
thousands of rounds through the pistol getting there. Began with iron sights, then to a pistol scope and finally to a red dot. Best money I ever spent on a firearm.
Finally sold it for three times what I paid for it last year to a young and coming new pistol competitor.
 
I paid full price on a Ruger SR9c when they first came out and I have never regretted it. I almost traded it off about 4 years ago, and I am so glad I did not. It still sits in the nightstand and is one of my favorite shooters.

Eight votes for the Ruger SR9C (or SR9) so far; almost ten percent of all responses. Wow! This humble pistol might have the greatest under-the-radar following of any firearm.
 
Remington RM380 for $219.99 + $100 rebate. Around $160 after transfer + taxes. It is currently my daily carry.
 
December 2019, Royal King had a sale on S&W MP 2.0 Compact (4.25")...night sights, 3 mags for $310. I jumped on that like they weren't going to make anymore...should have purchased a couple more but didn't
 
I'm gonna go with, of all things, a Taurus PT-92 AFS-D, purchased new from Discount Gun Mart in San Diego in 1991 for around $300. I bought it only because the Beretta M9 (which my branch was still transitioning to) was about another $150 more, and I had a baby on the way). Proved to be a superb pistol, and actually made me a fan of Taurus. In some ways, superior to the M9 -- frame-mounted, de-cocking safety (before H&K and FN got the idea). Cocked'n'locked, or DA first shot with safety off. Great system.
 
Ruger EC9S for $220. I don't leave home without it. :)

If any of you get tired if your SR9C's let me know. My brother in law has one that just sits in his safe. He lets me shoot it but won't sell it. :cuss:
