I have some jhp ammo my dad gave me that he's had sitting around for God only knows how long. I don't plan on shooting it, just pulling to reload. They appear to be winchester black talons or rangers, however they're in brass cases. I've done a lot of looking and can't find either talon or rangers loaded in brass. The brass is winchester brass. Anyone seen it before?

I have some that sounds similar to that I got from a gun show the mid 1990s. Should be still okay, as mine is.

I've had them in my carry gun until this weekend when I found a couple boxes of hornady defence.

Probably some LEO surplus I have some 40 Ranger loaded in brass it's FBI contract overrun.

Modern Winchester Ranger (LEO) ammo is Black Talon without being black.

As long as they haven’t been chambered over and over, set back, shoot them. A quick measurement of all of them should tell you if there good, all the same OAL.

It looks like they were stored carefully, no reason not to shoot it. I have some 70+ year old Winchester 22lr ammo that shoots perfectly well.

I have a box of Winchester Ranger Law Enforcement ammo looks just like that. The box shows it as their STX bullet. The stuff I have is +P+ ammo though.

It does appear they have sealer on the primer. Any of the reloaders here bother doing that? I don't know anyone personally who does.
Not knowing if they're factory loads would give me more pause than their age. I'd check OAL, look for any extraction marks and if they check out, shoot them.
