Found a couple hundred small pistol primers

I only use H110/296 for full power magnum rounds and that is the only powder I have for them. The primers I have are not magnum primers which leaves those powders out of it. It looks like Alliant 2400, Accurate #9, IMR 4227, Ramshot Enforcer would be the closest replacement for full throttle .357mag that doesn’t require a magnum primer.
Any other suggestions from you all that might fit the bill?

Looks like you got it... that's where I would go.

Question: What primer are they? Winchester LP primers are used for both.

I’ve used H110 in the past. Don’t recall the primers being magnum. Back down on the powder charge and restart the ladder process.
Just looked in my handloading log book.
357 Magnum 296 powder
A specific powder charge with three different primers
CCI 550 1227FPS
CCI 500. 1303FPS
WSP 1184FPS
The notes indicated CCI 550 had the highest spread
WSP the lowest.
My Chronograph was a printed screen single digits read out. The velocities aren’t gospel.

Taega, would you be located anywhere in Nebraska? I have a thousand Magnum Small Pistol primers I'd swap you for standard SPPs.
30 miles west of North Platte, NE.

Alliant 300MP does not require a magnum primer. It's awesome stuff. Every bit as good as H110 IMHO.

Lol no problem, yeh, I love Winchester LP primers for that very reason.....versatility. Thank you Mr. Loader, I was unaware of the 300 MP, that sounds like a good fit.

I would swap you in a heartbeat ERex but I am in Colorado. And when I said a couple hundred I literally mean I only have 200 SP primers total, never needed them until I picked up this darn 27-2, should have stuck with the .44’s and above lol....I have enough Large pistol primers.

Your going to love the 27. My post earlier was for loads for that gun. Alas age and arthritic hands prevent much magnum shooting. Black powder revolvers are the norm these days. Good luck with your two hundred.

Targa, those SPPs will be back, just be patient. To ration mine I shoot a few blue rocks now and then or one of the rifles and leave the revolver in the drawer.
This to shall pass. If you are in Colorado you are familiar with our "Ole's" here in town. When this is over, and it will be, stop by and we will go to Ole's for a "tall cool".

I went around looking for powder. No 300MP or 2400 to be found but I did pickup some AA#9. Thank you all for your help, I will see how this stuff works out.

I think you'll like AA#5. It's been a while since I've used it as 2400 is always plentiful...........until now. I'm loading mid-range loads of 6.5 grains Unique and a 150 grain 358477 bullet in 357 mag case. To ration my primers I did find a few SRPs and they work just fine. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Is the polar bear still the greeter at the door? Ole’s story about it took about 3 beers to hear it all! It wasn’t the whole bear either, they had to cut about 3’ out of it’s middle to get it in the door! Probably been 40 years since I’ve been there, amazing place and Ole was amazing to talk with!

The bear and mounts are all there. Ole himself has been gone several years and the place is cleaned up considerable. They serve good food there now also. There is also a "sandhill type bar/eatery" across the street called Windy Gap which has great food also.
We used to have the same number bars and churches but the churches have outnumbered the bars now so we aren't a balanced village anymore.
