1. Everything in the collective internet gun forums sings praises to the reliability of the cz 75. They are so reliable that they are popular in competitions...and one of the most emulated firearms in the word.

2. And in the same forums, you hear talk of fragile recoil springs, etc. Are those reports exaggerated?

How can this be?

It shouldn't matter as all parts wear out. However, I've not heard about fragile recoil springs on the CZ75 family of guns.

I have read of trigger return springs having a reputation for short life spans and the slide stop takes a lot of impact on the CZ guns and they don't last as long as some others.

Still, just a wear part, and replace as needed.

Never had an issue with fragile recoil springs in either my CZ-75B or P-07.

I did purchase the CZ-75B as a surplus pistol and immediately replaced the recoil spring with a new one, as I do with all used semiautomatics. I believe the new spring was from Wolff, if I recall correctly.

Some people have issues with the TRS, trigger return spring.
Also reports of slide stops breaking.
According some CZ gunsmiths, avoid dry firing a CZ in double action, heck avoid dry firing unless you have snap caps or O-rings and the issues with TRS drop.
Don't sling shot an empty slide.
CZ pistols dominate competitions for a reason, head over to the Brian Enos forum, you'll find guys with 10-20k rds per year on their CZs

I had a trigger return spring break on my first CZ 75 15yrs ago, had many more since wo issue. Recoil springs have all been good.

I have... I think I have six of them, all Italian or Turkish clones. I have yet to replace any spring or part. Two are military surplus, three are used, one I bought brand-new.

My FiL bought a brand-new CZ75 over five years ago, shoots it often (and well), and has yet to replace anything.

It's a small sample size, but the ones I've had have been sturdy.

I have a CZ-75 "pre-B" made in 1992, and I replaced the recoil spring because it was too strong. It was a bitch to rack. I replaced it with a current factory spring. Didn't affect function at all.

I have a bunch, and only one, my Mossad fullsized clone, had to have it's recoil spring replaced, and it was well used. I could feel the slide release being slammed when I first shot it, so I went and ordered some springs from Wolff. Other than that, never had an issue with any of them.

Have had my P01 for a little over 10 years and no problems with any springs or parts breakage. I make liberal use of the snap caps CZ was kind enough to supply with the gun when dry firing.

I also have a P07 but I have only had it for a couple of years and it hasn't been used all that much.
