Does any *reputable* company make an AR-15 in 12ga ? Not an exterior look-alike, but a genuine AR-15 in 12ga ? Same internals as an AR, but in 12ga ? Thanks in advance.

The only shotgun uppers available for the AR15 lowers are 410 uppers made in Turkey. Only the 2 1/2” shells will fit. There were a few 12 gauge uppers made for the large frame/AR10 lowers. I don’t know if they were ever able to work all the bugs out plus they were expensive.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Almost none of the parts of an AR-15 would be useful in a piston-in-bolt-carrier, mag-fed, rotating bolt, gas gun, in 12ga. Off the top, the bolt carrier might be big enough (edit: nope, not even close), but the remainder of the reciprocating parts are useless. Ditto for the lower; maybe the FCG would swap.

A 12 gauge upper is pricy at $1500 dollars. I would go with the Rock Island Armory VR80 if it was me. It can be had for $600

Resurrecting because I'm so tickled with myself for having bought one, I want to tell anyone who was ever interested, I was ready to order one online, and I lucked out and found the only one on the shelf in five counties and gladly paid $650 for it. Came with two 5 rd mags.

I got one and it runs great with high-velocity ammo. (Meaning, not LOW velocity cheap ammo.) Some say after a good break-in, it will eat anything, I will see. It is very solid, but to be clear, the internals are SIMILAR to an AR. They are not the SAME. It has a buffer and spring, but not the same ones. The tube is commercial-spec btw, for those of us who want to run aftermarket furniture. I just got a ProMag drum, I will see how it runs soon.
