What's your ultimate firearm related fantasy ... and is it attainable?

“Fantasy?”
I’m about to have a nerdgasm lol!

I’d like to have the discretionary income to own:
A full auto ma deuce, a Bell UH-1(the Huey helicopter) with a door mounted m60 machine gun,
A Thompson 45, full auto AK47 or AKM (maybe several in different flavors) a few full auto m4/m16 variants, a lot of WW2 guns and militaria, a few different gun ranges one of which being a “NUKETOWN” range, a very large discrete walk in gun safe/vault/room, m203 grenade launcher, m32 grenade launcher, mk 19, raufuss ammunition and some other wild ideas!

I’d also like to hunt the big 5 in Africa, American bison, trophy elk, moose and bear.

Some of this is obtainable if I put my mind to it, some it is not because the government says no,
And some of it is not obtainable because I’m married!

Are police officers (active and retired) allowed to CC in every state? I've had some tell me that they are but I find that hard to believe.
Active yes, retired too if they re-qualify every year according to their state's police standard.

I've been retired 11 years and do it every year, I thank George W. for signing HR 218, the Law Enforcement Officer's Safety Act of 2004 into law.

You can believe it.

@Speedo66, thanks for the clarification. Having lived in Hawaii for many years, I can't imagine that the law makers over there are happy about HR 218. For the record, I'm 110% in favor of having retired LE carrying in states where CC by non LE isn't permitted.

Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 - Amends the Federal criminal code to authorize a qualified law enforcement officer carrying photographic governmental agency identification to carry a concealed firearm, notwithstanding any State or local law. Declares that this provision shall not be construed to supersede or limit the laws of any State that: (1) permit private persons or entities to prohibit or restrict the possession of concealed firearms on their property; or (2) prohibit or restrict the possession of firearms on any State or local government property, installation, building, base, or park.

Defines "qualified law enforcement officer" as: (1) a current governmental agency law enforcement officer who is authorized to carry a firearm, who is not the subject of disciplinary action, who meets agency standards which require the employee to regularly qualify in the use of a firearm, and who is not under the influence of alcohol or another intoxicating or hallucinatory drug or substance; and (2) a retired law enforcement officer who retired in good standing from public agency service, who was regularly employed as a law enforcement officer for at least 15 years, who has a nonforfeitable right to agency retirement benefits, who has met the State's standards for training and qualification for active law enforcement officers to carry firearms during the most recent 12-month period, and who is not under the influence of alcohol or another intoxicating or hallucinatory drug or substance.

Excludes from the definition of "firearm" any machine-gun, firearm silencer, and destructive device.

I'd be happy with a deluxe indoor shooting range in my basement. I'd like it to be at least 6 lanes so it's wide enough that I can do some move and shoots in there as well. Custom benches, electric target hangers, premium lighting, fully ventilated and heated. Throw in some leather chairs, a fully stocked wet bar and a humidor behind the firing line and it will be just about perfect.

HI requires visiting LEO's carrying under HR218 to register with the police within a few days of arrival. I don't think this is legal under HR218, but I don't want to be the test case, either.

For resident retired LEO's, HI insists you go to their designated private company to be re-qualified, again I don't think this is legal as the law says you can go to any state qualified police instructor. But, once more, wouldn't want to be the test case.

HI has also not issued a private carry permit in years.

My fantasy is probably unobtainable for any number of reasons. I would love to hunt Africa. I won a safari several years ago in Namibia but after checking the out of pocket expenses that were not covered in the $16,000.00 prize, I decided that I could not afford it. Another life long passion is to own a double rifle, engraved and inlaid with fine walnut stock. Many years ago Dixie Gun Works had a 45-70 double not engraved or inlaid and probably plain walnut for around $4500.00 which at that time was not affordable either. I do have a 1.5 acre lot that is 363' deep which allowed for installation of a reasonable range for load testing and sighting in anything I need. Life is still good.

Right now it is to be awake and alert and on the mend next Wedneday after my aortic valve replacement on Tuesday. And, to be back on the trap field by mid January and maybe in the deer blind for late season. Big hopes get downsized when things go to pot.
Here it is Tuesday evening and I'm sitting up, sore, but alert with a new stent and aortic valve. They said it only took one jolt to get everything going again. Now to start rehab and work on parts two and three.

I hope you make a quick and full recovery and get back to doing all the things that you want. All the best to you.

There's a few, not in any particular order. A marbles gamegetter, a rifle made by Hacker Martin, a firearm made by William Scagel. The Scagel rifle would probably be all but unobtainable.

My wishes are pretty simple. A detachable box fed pump action 22LR to be produced again, a custom 24" round barrel takedown 1892 lever action with 1:16 twist in 38 special, and Remington 125gn golden sabre bullets back in production again as its one of the best low velocity expanding bullets ever made. No1. is unacheivable, unless I want to find one of the olden day pump actions, almost collectable now. No2 is achievable. No.3 I dont think any inventory remains.

Realistically:
Whenever the Euros allow us to return
(-we all will need a vaccine card to travel-), if nobody in Poland or Greece etc has a single barrel ZSU-23 mm I can shoot, a Thompson machine gun would be just fine.
Even in the US.

it would be a bit cool to simply be able to forecast the result of sanding any wood gun stocks, then know what a specific stain can create.

I never dreamed of anything extensive such as disassembling/reassembling frame components in the Sig P6 (or any gun), but there is a very good , well-illuminated, close-up , narrated video for it.

So I did it and wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought.
!! But keeping groups of small components in about four separate plastic baggies was also of -Critical- importance.

Baggies were the only reason nothing got lost.

I want this gun cage from GTA V, it's neatly built into the wall with some cool textured polymer rear, shelves for ammunition storage, built in illumination (mine would be in RGB) and at the bottom you have doors (that I'd want to be made out of plexi glass instead of wire mesh). I think it's doable, but it'd have to be custom made for me which isn't really financially feasible right now. Probably would need to be taller too to store longer rifles, and I'd like a separate cage cell for pistols.
