Recently purchased a Glock 19 gen 2 NIB from a best friend of my son-in-law. He is thinning his extensive collection . It has the silver internals , factory upgrade metal lined mags , relief cuts behind the locking block and a crisp trigger break .The serial number dates to 09/92 . Have been using my 17 mags . I was made aware that the u notched mags may have a stand alone value . Purchased the
wider upgrade slide lock spring on the advice of a Glock armorer . This gun replaces a gen 2 19 regretfully traded 25 yrs. ago . Didn’t need it had to have it . No modifications forthcoming . I paid $400 and a $20 transfer. Deal or no deal ? 5627EE8F-C943-40CD-9C06-166ABF2BEA49.jpeg

If you're a Glock collector, deal. Otherwise, meh. But in today's market its a deal.

Value is in the eye of the purchaser, a pinnacle of capitalism; you purchased it so it was worth it at that juncture for you.

I love my Glocks, but they are very low on my radar as wanting to collect the whole set, generations and all. Just my opinion.

All above notwithstanding, it looks like a very nice 28 year old Glock, very well taken care of. Surprised the polymer hasn't turned to dust ;)

Given the current sellers' market, I think you got a very good price. In normal times, I'd say it's a fair price to both buyer and seller. Demand for the Gen 2 Glocks, particularly the 19, has been rising steadily in recent years. If you're not attached to the u-notch mags, you could probably sell them to a collector, replace them with new factory mags or MagPul Glock mags, and come out even further ahead.

$400 is an ABSOLUTE STEAL for a classic NIB Gen 2!! Nice going!!

I paid more than that for a rather tired and worn Gen 2 model 17. I did get the original "tupperware" box though. I suppose that's worth something.

I'm not a "Glock Guy" either but for a gun that clean, that's a pretty decent price nowadays.

I still have my "Tupperware" container for my Gen. 1 Model 17 along with all of it's accessories (ammo not included). Don't know if it's worth all that much but I like keeping it around as it reminds me of a time when Glocks were new and radically different, including the box they came shipped in!

That's a good deal on a good gun, especially today. Its a Glock, so even if you break it somehow, they will fix it. I have a couple of older ones like that myself. The only downside is there is no rail on yours, but unless you want to mount a light, it doesn't matter. Also, there are add-on adaptors to mount a light if you desire to at a later time. It looks like you have the older mags that don't drop free, but you could always buy a couple of the newer ones if that is the case.

A buddy who was moving south 'gave' me his, but later reneged when another buddy had an interest in it. Did like the grooveless grip frame, but I don't collect Glocks.
A G19.3 and 19.5 solve that problem for me.

I paid 500 for mine, G19 gen 3. You did great.
At that age, i like to check the spring tension of the slide stop, and some other springs for wear.
When i first got my G2 Glock 17, the spring that holds the slide stop downward was weak, which caused slide lock back, even if it wasnt the last round in the magazine. OOPS!
Good luck
